Job Description:

The Warehouse Manager is a key operational leader responsible for the strategic oversight and daily execution of all warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions across both wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels. This role manages end-to-end warehouse operations including inventory control, logistics scheduling, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines hands-on expertise with a proactive management style, ensuring optimal service levels, efficiency, and workplace safety.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Warehouse & Inventory Operations
•  Manage and execute all Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions related to transfers, promotions, sample requests, bottling lots, and sales orders.
•  Ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments, including order pulling, loading/unloading, and staging of goods.
•  Oversee warehouse organization and maintenance, ensuring equipment (e.g., forklifts) is safe, functional, and compliant with company and OSHA standards.
•  Lead daily, monthly, and annual inventory processes; partner with Finance, Planning, and Bottling teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
•  Report and manage inventory damage, breakage, or product loss in accordance with company policies.

Shipping & Receiving
•  Direct the scheduling and coordination of all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
•  Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external partners regarding shipping inquiries, receiving schedules, and issue resolution.
•  Ensure all documentation and system entries are complete and accurate, supporting full traceability.

Team Leadership & Performance Management
•  Supervise and coach a cross-functional warehouse team, including Wholesale, Dry Goods, and DTC personnel.
•  Lead by example through on-the-floor leadership, coaching, and hands-on support as needed.
•  Conduct performance reviews, provide timely feedback, and execute disciplinary actions when necessary, in accordance with HR policies.
•  Manage staffing schedules, approve timecards, and coordinate shift coverage and vacation planning.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement
•  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA, food safety, and company standards.
•  Facilitate regular team meetings focused on safety, quality, productivity, and process improvements.
•  Lead special projects including repackaging, relabeling, and seasonal fulfillment initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•  Partner with Procurement, Planning, Winemaking, and Customer Service teams to support alignment of inventory, packaging availability, and production timelines.
•  Act as a change agent and contributor to company-wide efficiency and service goals.

•  Able to lift 40 pounds.
•  Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods as required by operational needs.
•  Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.


EQUIPMENT USED: Forklifts, clamp lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other standard warehouse equipment.

FOOD SAFETY: Hess Persson Estates is SQF/HACCP certified. Each person is responsible for upholding all the provisions within our Quality policy and meeting all regulatory and statutory requirements relevant to their individual role. In the absence of this role the person that this role reports to shall be responsible for ensuring all food safety requirements relative to this role are met.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
•  Minimum of 5 years of warehouse management experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
•  Minimum of 3 years leading warehouse personnel or operational teams.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word); strong working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems.
•  Forklift certified, with prior hands-on experience operating warehouse equipment.
•  Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
•  High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.


This role’s compensation is anticipated to fit within the range of $75,000-$85,000/year. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, knowledge and education.
