We’re seeking a dynamic and visionary Winery General Manager to lead our esteemed winery in Napa Valley. This pivotal role requires a blend of strategic oversight and a detailed oriented management across all facets of the business, including operations, hospitality, sales, marketing, financial oversight, procurement, and business development. The ideal candidate will embody our commitment to profitable excellence.
Compensation –$200,000+
What you'll be doing:
Operational Management:
Manage all aspects of the winery including tasting room operations, wine sales, vineyard contract management, and bottling scheduling.
Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations for all staff
Implement and refine operational strategies to drive efficiency and achieve business objectives
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations of wine production and sales
Sales and Marketing:
Enhance direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales channels, including tasting room experiences and wine club memberships.
Collaborate with marketing teams to craft compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
Develop a social media strategy to build brand awareness and the character of the winemaker and the wines
Foster relationships with distributors, retailers, and hospitality partners to broaden market presence.
Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Analyze financial performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and product availability.
Communicate with ownership on the positioning and needs of the business
Customer Experience:
Foster a welcoming and educational environment in the tasting room, ensuring exceptional guest experiences through knowledgeable staff and engaging wine tastings
Cultivate relationships with local businesses and community organizations to promote the winery and attract new customers
Vineyard Management:
Manage all vineyard contracts and stipulations.
Team Development
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that aligns with our organizational values.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Proven experience in managing a super premium winery operation.
Strong sales and marketing skills (social media) with a demonstrated ability to build customer loyalty
Excellent financial acumen and budgeting experience
Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a passion for the wine industry
