Tasting Room Sales Associate- PT

Job Description:

An exciting wine collective opened in Calistoga over 2 years ago. The focus is one winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown and one farmer, Matthew Hardin of Hardin Vineyard Management. We opened with 3 brands and now have 5 with a couple more joining soon. We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter to join our small, tight sales team. The ideal candidate will assist in building new brands as well as support established brands. This role needs someone who can wear many sales hats. As an example, you will be supporting a historic Napa Valley family’s youngest generation launch a brand while simultaneously generating sales for a successful 100 point winemaker. We are looking for a hard worker that enjoys the fun the wine business can bring daily. The wines poured in this collective are located in a number of Napa Valley’s finest appellations: Stag’s Leap, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena and Calistoga to name a few. This diversity of terroir allows remarkable range for experimentation and unmatched quality in all of our wine brands represented at the collective. Our ideal candidate embraces change, loves to learn and is ready to become a key player in a collective setting with brands entering a new and exciting phase of growth.

Sell and educate customers on the boutique brands in the tasting room setting, alongside management and ownership guidance.
Manage the daily tasting schedule and visitor calendar.
Assist the owners and other brand managers with all ordering of supplies and keeping up the look and aesthetic of the tasting room.
Accurately use point of sale programs by handling daily purchasing transactions.
Control inbound and outbound correspondence and requests from guests and referral sources daily.
Act as a gracious gatekeeper while vetting, accommodating or working around guests’ needs.
Provide exceptional customer service via telephone, email and other forms of communications.
Accurately follow all opening and closing procedures.
Ensure neat, well organized and fully stocked merchandise display.
Communicate kindly with all Tasting Room staff to foster a friendly, productive, efficient, professional and positive work environment.
Assist office work as needed.
Light facilities management.
Represent winery at outside functions as needed

Required Experience/Qualifications:
Team-oriented attitude
Highly organized, self-starter
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Superior customer service skills and service driven
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Maintain highest standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Experience:
Point of Sale/ Retail software experience- Figure
Selling Napa Valley Wines

Compensation will be hourly plus commission and designed for the candidate chosen.
