Assistant Hospitality Manager

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Hospitality Manager to join the Markham Vineyards tasting room team! Reporting to the Hospitality and Events Manager, this key member of the tasting room team is responsible for directly supporting the Hospitality Manager (HM) with tasting room (TR) management. This role serves as lead tasting room manager on duty 3-5 days/week, and takes a leadership role with direct management and training of team members on the tasting room floor, quarterly guest-experience programming, and in back of the house programs including Inventory and systems management, as well as serves as Guest Services liaison. This role is based in St. Helena, CA and is a Full-time, exempt position, working Thursday - Monday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off) and the incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!

Minimum Qualifications:

- 2+ years experience hospitality management, preferably in a high-volume hospitality environment
- 2 + years experience operational management
- 2+ years experience inventory systems management
- Tasting room, wine club or restaurant experience preferred
- High school graduate
- College degree preferred
- Knowledge of and deep passion for wine and the wine industry/Wine Credential preferred but not mandatory
- Table-side service expert & hourly staff training including the ability to coach and motivate teams
- Understanding of world class service and hospitality standards
- Familiar with general back-office systems and operations management that includes MS Office Suite and POS
- Self-starter and ability to work autonomously
- Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assist in all aspects of TR management; lead MOD 3-5 days/week
- Mastery of POS, reservation, CRM systems and TR SOP’s
- Key TR liaison with the Guest Services team, ensuring TR team is aware of all current order and club management protocols are understood and followed
- Assist HM with payroll processing and reporting as needed
- Active Participation in all Weekly, Monthly Meetings
- Role model exemplary hospitality and customer service
- Manage relationships with all systems and back of the office vendors as pertaining to day-to-day TR activities
- Participate in external/internal events
- Help manage all wine club member onsite events and general public onsite events
- Champion safety with all team members
