Job Description:

Vineyard 29, a highly acclaimed, family-owned luxury estate winery located in St. Helena Napa Valley, and home to Robert M. Parker Jr. 100 point rated 29 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, energetic Vineyard 29 Brand Ambassador to join us. This position is part-time and may evolve into a full-time opportunity.

Working closely with our Tasting Room Manager as well as a luxury oriented and sophisticated winery team, the Brand Ambassador will have the unique opportunity to be part of the continued growth of a successful and renowned wine brand. Focused on producing and selling extraordinary wines, our high-energy, team-oriented staff understands the nuances of exceptional hospitality and sales acumen while conducting luxury-level wine tastings and providing overall excellent customer experiences at our Tasting Room at First Street Napa as well as the winery in St. Helena.

The ideal candidate will possess a flexible can-do attitude, have experience in luxury wines as well as winery hospitality at the highest level, be exceedingly well presented, organized and creative, team-minded, provide exemplary customer service, be sales driven, and successfully execute sales efforts on a consistent basis.

The Work
•  Execute high-end wine presentations, tastings, and food pairings at our Tasting Room in Napa and the winery in St. Helena.
•  Provide an exemplary customer winery and tasting room experience starting with the first contact and lasting throughout the relationship.
•  Feel extremely comfortable around highly experienced, wine-knowledgeable customers.
•  Consistently achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales objectives across the entire Vineyard 29 portfolio.
•  Comfortably and strategically sell allocation allotments and multi-level wine clubs.
•  Maintain exceptional tasting area standards, ensuring all guest spaces and back of house spaces are clean and properly appointed each day upon open and close.
•  Ensure all stemware is washed, buffed, restocked and accessible to the sales staff throughout the day.
•  Aid with the daily preparation for all tastings, including but not limited to set-up and breakdown, the preparation of private tastings and seasonal food pairings.
•  Receiving and restocking inventory in an organized and efficient manner.
•  Fulfillment of wine for carry-out orders in a timely manner as directed by hospitality staff.
•  Exhibit knowledge of daily procedures, safety, and housekeeping. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
•  Ensure tasting room and inventory areas are always stocked; ensure any displays of wine are attractive and maintained.
•  Ensure the kitchens are always safe and sanitary, and all kitchen equipment works and is maintained properly.
•  Develop appropriate industry partner relationships through networking and outreach.
•  Perform tele sales campaigns on a standard basis to a variety of Vineyard 29 Clientele.
•  Occasionally schedule tasting visits and consistently update customer retention management software (Great Vines/Salesforce).
•  Occasionally conduct off-site outreach downtown and to various hotels / wineries in Napa Valley
•  Proactively develop creative solutions to achieve overall hospitality objectives.
•  Other duties as requested.

The Requirements
•  Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.
•  Minimum 2-3 years (4+ preferred) winery sales & hospitality experience.
•  Ability to work flexible shifts between the hours of 10am and 10pm.
•  Ability to work in support of on-site and off-site events.
•  Self-motivated team player who is highly organized and meets deadlines.
•  High comfort level with luxury wine and sales.
•  Exceedingly strong presentation and interpersonal abilities.
•  Possess the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with clientele in person and via email, exhibiting consistent high customer touch sales acumen.
•  Exhibit attention to detail and be service minded.
•  Exhibit leadership while demonstrating strong work ethic to hospitality support team members.
•  Make all decisions with a personal level of ownership, passion, and conviction, going above and beyond as needed.
•  Excellent phone, email and in-person communication skills with customers and team members.
•  Proficient in MS Word, Excel, social media, and CRM software.
•  Experience in Salesforce a significant plus.
•  Food Safe Serve and Responsible Beverage Service Certification is a plus and will be required upon hire as will all mandatorily required training.

The Rest
•  Must be able to lift 50 pounds; stand, sit and/or walk consistently.
•  Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures and winemaking work conditions.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules; some evenings may be required.
•  Must adhere to all advanced safety and social distancing practices as well as all Company policies and safety practices
