Tamber Bey Vineyards

Calistoga, CA

Job Description:

Tamber Bey Vineyards is excited to offer internship opportunities for the upcoming 2024 Harvest in sunny Calistoga!

As an intern with us, you will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of wine styles, mostly focusing on high end Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, along with smaller quantities of other varieties like Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, Syrah, and Petit Syrah. Aside from producing wine for our own brand, we also make wine for other luxury wine brands in the Napa Valley, which will allow you to have exposure to other small, high-end projects and their winemakers. These projects are led by winemakers such as Sally Johnson-Blum, Thomas Rivers Brown, Mike Smith, and Nova Cadamatre.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sanitation
Fruit receiving/Processing
Barrel work and hygiene
Fermentation management
Draining and Pressing
Inoculation/ Additions
Onsite forklifting

The dates:

The dates of this internship are between August to early-November. As the growing season progresses, we will have a better idea of the exact starting and finishing dates and will let you know more. Interns must be available without interruption for the entire length of harvest.

While we highly value prior harvest experiences we also strongly encourage you to apply if you have a positive attitude, a great work-ethic, are self-motivated, and can adapt with the season and the job responsibilities. The job is physically demanding, so the ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb stairs, push/pull heavy objects (like pumps and stem bins), and stand for extended periods of time in cold/wet and hot environments is required. Candidates are also expected to work long hours including nights and weekends; however, any overtime hours worked will include overtime pay.

Depending on experience the hourly pay for this role is $20-25 DOE including three meals per week during peak harvest, dinner for shifts over 12 hours and small snacks will be available.

Protective equipment will be provided to you by us. There is a house on the property with rooms available to rent.

For international applicants: We would love to have international interns, you will be responsible for obtaining your own J-1 visa as we do not have the ability to assist you in that process.

We look forward to welcoming you!
