Job Description:

Chandon was sparked into life in 1973 by the visionary spirit of Robert-Jean de Vogüé and California pioneer John Wright. As one of the first French-owned sparkling wine ventures in the U.S., Chandon carefully selected its vineyards and are now considered to be amongst the best for producing quality sparkling wines in California.

For over forty years now, Chandon continues to combine traditional French techniques and winemaking knowledge with the beautiful, sun-ripened fruit of California to craft sparkling wines of the highest quality.

Chandon’s winery, Domaine Chandon is located in Yountville and today Head Winemaker Pauline Lhote and her skilled team continue to innovate and provide a unique expression of the terroir, delighting senses with California brightness, vibrancy and intensity of flavors and aromas.

Event Sales/ Planning (80%)
Actively solicit new B2B, Corporate and Social business opportunities through off-site visits, conducting effective sales calls, emails, and presentations to potential clients, bringing in new business to the winery
Timely respond to all incoming Event inquiries
Develop creatives/ content for paid media and organic advertisement of Experiences and Private Events (B2B/ Weddings)
Manage client budgets and spending to align with the department profitability objectives
Financially driven with the ability to forecast, always mindful of budgeting restraints pertaining to events
Manage annual budgets of up to $1.6 million annually, forecasted over a 3 year period
Establish sales strategy to launch Chandon California as a reputable luxury events venue within the Napa Valley
Knowledge of competitive set and recommend sales/pricing strategies, service, and product improvements to stay competitive
Consistently reviews shifts in market mix and industry trends with Director Brand Experiences and make deployment/pricing recommendations
Ensure all necessary documentation from outside vendors has been received in a timely manner (i.e. Certificates of Insurance, NDA’s where applicable, Vendor Code of Conduct)
Maintain guest database to ensure efficient mailings and tracking of their history and preferences
Conduct weekly Event Overview Meetings with all involved key team members

New Business Development | Leisure Travel | Brand Home Visitor Experiences (20%)
Solicit and promote business through marketing, cold calling, contacting past guests, relationships with local businesses, Hotel Concierges, and other cost-effective activities.
Conduct outreach with tourism partners: Visit Napa Valley, Napa and Yountville Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Coordinate offsite pouring events representing Chandon in the best way possible (wines, collateral etc.)
Work closely with on-site DTC team and Brand Team in NY to promote internal Experiences and Events through various local media channels, websites etc.
Work closely with CRM team on regular website content updates (when needed)

Professional experience & know how:
Customer service experience is required as well as a strong sales background in the events space.
5+ years of experience in a a Sales or Catering Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar role. Marketing Experience is a plus
Experience & Event Management in a winery/ hotel or restaurant environment

Technical & Management skills:
Ability to use application software to perform administrative role, Excel, Word, SAP, and Microsoft Outlook. Ability to multi-task using telephone, computer, and written communications.
Copywriting skills, excellent grammar, organization, and time management skills.

Personal & Interpersonal skills:
Guest and sales skills are key.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-orientation, self-motivation, proactive problem solving, follow-through and ability to work with limited supervision are vital to the success of this position.
Strong team player, excellent communication skills both within and outside of the organization.
A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
