Damsel Cellars

Woodinville, WA

Job Description:

Damsel Cellars | Woodinville, Washington
Full-time, exempt | Reports to: Owner/Founder
About Us
Damsel Cellars makes wine the way we'd want it explained to us: honestly, generously, and without any stuffiness. We're the knowledgeable friend who happens to make wine — and that same warmth is what we want every guest to feel every time they enjoy a glass of Damsel wine.
We're a small producer, which means nothing here is anonymous. Every bottle has a story, every guest gets a real conversation, and every person on our team has genuine ownership over the outcomes they help to create. We like to get to know the people who enjoy our wines. Our tasting room is where those relationships begin, and we want every visit to feel easy and genuine, whether you know exactly what you like or you’re discovering something new. Great wine gives us a reason to gather. The people are why we stay.
Wine brings people together. At Damsel Cellars, we love what happens when someone pulls up a chair, pours a glass, and stays for a conversation. That is why we are in the wine business: for the friendships, the stories, and the chance to make someone feel welcome.
Position Summary
Damsel Cellars is looking for a General Manager who wants to help us grow. This is a chance to take the operational reins of an established Woodinville winery running the tasting room floor, energizing the wine club, leading a team, and keeping the whole operation humming behind the scenes.
This is a hands-on, in-the-mix leadership role. One day you're coaching a staff member through a tricky guest interaction, the next you're coordinating a bottling schedule with our winemaker, and on a Saturday you're right behind the bar during the rush, setting the tone for the whole team. You'll own the day-to-day rhythm of the business: scheduling, events, club releases, vendor relationships, and compliance, all with real autonomy to make decisions and see the results of your work immediately.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves the operational hustle — who gets energy from a packed events calendar, a growing club roster, and a staff that's leveling up with their leadership. This role also has a good runway: as you master the day-to-day, there's also the opportunity to take on the more strategic side of the business over time.
Key Responsibilities
Tasting Room & Direct-to-Consumer
•  Own tasting room revenue, guest experience, and club conversion
•  Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor cost against traffic and seasonality
•  Build and run the events calendar (release parties, member events, private buyouts)
•  Administer POS and reservation systems
Wine Club
•  Own membership growth and retention targets
•  Run club releases — allocation, packaging, fulfillment, shipping
•  Manage member communications and billing
Operations
•  Coordinate production inventory and logistics with the winemaker
•  Oversee facility and vendor relationships
•  Own cash flow forecasting for the seasonal cycle
Compliance & Team
•  Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach tasting room and hospitality staff
•  Maintain compliance with WALCB laws and practices
•  Model the guest standard personally — including working the floor

Qualifications
Required
•  3+ years managing a hospitality, retail, or DTC operation
•  Comfortable owning both the day-to-day operations and building toward bigger responsibility
•  Hands-on experience with POS/club platforms (Commerce7, WineDirect, Orderport or similar)
•  Proven ability to hire, coach, and retain an hourly team
•  Available weekends and holidays
•  21+, valid WA MAST permit (or able to obtain)
•  Able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
Preferred
•  Winery, brewery, distillery industry experience
•  WSET Level 2/3 or equivalent wine knowledge
•  Experience in a small, owner-operated business

What Success Looks Like
First 90 days: You know the operation cold, the team trusts you, and the tasting room runs to a consistent standard.
First 12 months: Club growth and retention are trending up, the events calendar runs itself, and you've earned expanded ownership over the parts of the business you want to grow into.

Compensation
•  Base salary: $60,000–$80,000, depending on experience
•  Performance bonus/commission structure tied to club growth, DTC revenue, and sales stabilization
•  Target total compensation: $90,000–$110,000
•  Wine allowance and employee discount

How to Apply
Send us a resume and a cover letter, tell us why you’d be awesome at this job, and tell us about a business or team you ran day-to-day and how you made things more amazing.
