The Job

A well-established company in the New World and Interactional wine and spirits industry is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a wine and spirits professional with strong industry knowledge and purchasing experience to help develop and manage a premium portfolio across domestic and international markets. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring wine and spirits, managing supplier relationships, supporting margin objectives, and identifying new products and producers. The role will have a strong focus on New World wines, including California and other major U.S. wine regions, international wines, and the continued growth of Spirits categories. This position works closely with Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams and offers the opportunity to build strong relationships throughout the wine and spirits industry.


Responsibilities
•  Buying activities for assigned wine and spirits categories.
•  Identify new products, producers, and market opportunities.
•  Research consumer trends, product availability, pricing, and competitive positioning.
•  Develop and maintain relationships with producers, distributors, and suppliers.
•  Travel to producers and suppliers to build relationships and support sourcing efforts.
•  Negotiate product costs, payment terms, and other vendor conditions.
•  Monitor lead times, deliveries, and vendor performance.
•  Manage purchasing for assigned product lines while supporting margin objectives.
•  Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate product information, pricing, and online merchandising.
•  Manage and update purchase orders for assigned product lines.
•  Serve as a subject matter expert and share wine and spirits knowledge with internal teams.
•  Partner with Marketing on promotional calendars, campaigns, email marketing, and other promotional materials.
•  Review and edit promotional content and product copy.
•  Stay current on industry trends, producers, regions, and consumer preferences

What We’re Looking for

•  Strong knowledge of wine and spirits.
•  At least 2 years of buying experience within the wine and spirits industry.
•  Experience in high-volume retail, fine wine and spirits, or a related environment.
•  Strong understanding of purchasing, pricing, margins, and supplier relationships.
•  Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•  Highly organized, proactive, and solution oriented.
•  Ability to work independently while contributing as a strong team player.
•  Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
•  Strong relationship-building skills and emotional intelligence.
•  Foreign language skills are a plus.
•  Passion for wine and spirits and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry.



Compensation: $90K-110K
