About Backstage Winery

Backstage Winery is a Napa Valley producer of estate and single-vineyard wines. We're a small, hands-on team where every person has a real say in how things run, and we're building out our cellar and warehouse operations.

The Role

We're looking for a Warehouse & Cellar Operations Coordinator to take ownership of the physical side of the winery: inventory, fulfillment, and cellar production support. The role combines warehouse and logistics coordination with hands-on cellar work, reporting directly to our production team. You'll work alongside our winemaking staff during harvest and crush, and independently manage inventory, shipping, and warehouse organization the rest of the year.

It's a good fit for someone who likes variety. One day you're pulling and staging an order for shipment, the next you're on the crush pad or helping with a bottling run.

What You'll Do

Warehouse & Inventory

Manage finished-goods inventory: receiving, put-away, cycle counts, and reconciliation
Pick, pack, and stage wine for shipment (DTC orders, wholesale, distributor pickups, and event/tasting room replenishment)
Operate forklift and pallet jack to move cased goods and bulk materials
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, including proper stacking, labeling, and case-goods rotation (FIFO)
Coordinate with carriers and freight partners on inbound and outbound shipments
Track dry goods and packaging inventory (bottles, corks, capsules, labels, cases) and flag reorder needs

Cellar & Production Support

Filtering wine ahead of bottling
Topping off barrels and tanks on a regular schedule
Sulfur management: SO2 additions, testing, and record keeping
Barrel management: cleaning, prepping, moving, and tracking barrel inventory
Support bottling runs, including line setup, quality checks, case-packing, and palletizing
Clean and sanitize tanks, hoses, presses, and other cellar and bottling equipment
Assist with harvest receiving and crush-pad logistics during harvest season
General upkeep of the production facility

What We're Looking For

Prior experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or cellar/production work (wine industry experience is a plus, not a requirement)
Comfortable with physical work, including regularly lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and moving around a working cellar and warehouse
Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain one
Organized and detail-oriented. Inventory accuracy matters.
Reliable, hands-on, and able to work independently once trained
Willingness to work extended and variable hours during harvest (typically August through October)
Valid driver's license
Basic computer skills (inventory software, email, spreadsheets)
