Summary
The Harvest Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and safety of production and facility equipment during the winery's harvest season. This position performs advanced troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and minimize disruption to production.

The Harvest Maintenance Technician works closely with Winemaking to ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production and quality standards. This position is expected to respond quickly to equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs and adjustments in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Functions

•  Understand and adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and company policies.
•  Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas.
•  Independently perform advanced repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on industrial beverage processing and winery equipment, including but not limited presses, destemmers, pumps, conveyors, cranes, cap management systems, and other production equipment.
•  Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and controls-related equipment issues within the scope of the position's training and qualifications.
•  Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, replace or repair components, test systems, and make necessary adjustments to restore reliable operation.
•  Provide timely response to emergency maintenance needs, prioritizing repairs based on safety, production impact, and product quality.
•  Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
•  Perform basic PLC and control-system troubleshooting and work with internal or external controls specialists as needed to resolve more complex issues.
•  Perform preventative maintenance and inspections and identify potential equipment failures before they impact production.
•  Communicate consistently with the on-site supervisor and production teams and ensure clear cross-shift handoffs and awareness of equipment status and outstanding issues.
•  Ensure proper implementation of safety systems and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space protocols, machine guarding, and safe chemical handling.
•  Perform plumbing, carpentry, welding/fabrication, and general facility maintenance as needed.
•  Support maintenance and troubleshooting of winery utility systems and infrastructure, as applicable, including pumps, water systems, compressed air, glycol/refrigeration, and other production support systems.
•  Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, material handling equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to changes in temperature, indoor and outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, moisture, and wet surfaces. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The employee may work around active production equipment, chemicals, and other winery hazards and must follow all applicable safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a temporary full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Saturday, 11:30am to 9:00pm, through the end of November.

Required Education and Experience
•  High School diploma/GED, or an equivalent number of years of education and production experience.
•  5+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
•  Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, and schematics.

Preferred Education and Experience
•  An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
•  Production equipment and PLC experience.
•  10+ years of experience in a production and manufacturing environment.
•  Possess welding and fabrication skills.
