About Williams Selyem
Williams Selyem produces limited-production Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley and other distinguished vineyard sites. Our wines are shared primarily through an allocation list, and the relationships we build with our members are central to everything we do.
Our Estate welcomes members and their guests for private, appointment-based experiences that bring our wines, vineyards, and history to life. Hospitality here is personal, thoughtful, and grounded in a shared appreciation for wine.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a warm, engaging Tasting Salon Host & Wine Educator to join our Hospitality team on a part-time basis. This is an opportunity to represent an acclaimed winery, deepen your wine knowledge, and connect with members who share your enthusiasm for exceptional wines.
The ideal candidate combines attentive service with confident storytelling and an instinct for making people feel welcome. You enjoy guiding guests through a tasting, helping them discover wines they love, and taking care of the details that make each visit memorable. You are equally comfortable hosting an experience and supporting the preparation, coordination, and follow-through behind it.
In addition to private tastings, our team hosts occasional member events, special tastings, and dinners that offer further opportunities to share our wines and connect with the Williams Selyem community.

Key Responsibilities
Host memorable experiences
•  Lead private tastings and Estate tours, sharing the Williams Selyem story and explaining our wines, vineyards, and winemaking approach in an engaging, approachable manner.
•  Tailor each experience to guests’ interests and wine knowledge, anticipating their needs and delivering thoughtful, personalized service.
•  Strengthen relationships with existing members and introduce prospective members to our Allocation List and membership experience.
•  Guide wine and merchandise purchases with attentive recommendations, accurate order entry, and careful packing.

Support member service and communication
•  Respond professionally to inquiries by phone, email, and RedChirp, assisting with reservations, purchases, and information about releases and events.
•  Maintain accurate guest profiles, preferences, and follow-up notes in Commerce7 to support consistent, personalized service.
•  Assist with member outreach and hospitality initiatives related to sales, marketing, and special events.

Maintain a welcoming, well-organized Estate
•  Complete opening and closing procedures and prepare tasting spaces for each day’s appointments.
•  Support occasional member events, special tastings, and dinners, both at the Estate and offsite, assisting with preparation, guest service, setup, and breakdown.
•  Wash and polish glassware, replenish supplies, and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of guest areas, including restrooms.
•  Track wines opened and poured, help maintain wine and merchandise inventory, and participate in physical inventory counts.
•  Collaborate with colleagues across departments and support additional projects as needed.

•  A warm, professional presence and the ability to connect comfortably with guests of varying backgrounds and wine knowledge.
•  Strong wine knowledge and the curiosity to continue learning about viticulture, winemaking, and our vineyard sources.
•  Clear communication and presentation skills, whether hosting an intimate tasting or speaking to a larger group.
•  Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing needs while remaining composed and attentive.
•  A dependable, collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to every aspect of the guest experience.
•  Comfort learning new technology and using Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Commerce7 and RedChirp is helpful.
•  Previous experience in winery hospitality, fine dining, luxury service, or a comparable guest-facing role is preferred.

Schedule & Physical Requirements
•  Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evening events.
•  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and repeatedly lift and move up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
•  Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving tables and chairs, arranging service stations, and organizing supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
•  High school diploma or equivalent.
