Van Duzer Vineyards

Dallas, OR

Job Description:

About Van Duzer Vineyards

Van Duzer Vineyards is the oldest winery in the Willamette Valley’s Van Duzer Corridor AVA, a family-owned estate established in 1998 and shaped by the powerful afternoon winds that define our growing conditions and our spirit. Known primarily for Pinot Noir, we produce two distinct collections — the Block Collection and the Zephyra Collection — and cultivate a community of wine lovers through our Wine Club membership program. We're a small, close-knit team that cares deeply about the land, the wine, and the stories we tell about both. With our winery and primary tasting room located in Dallas, we also just opened a new tasting room in Dundee in May 2026. This position would support efforts for both locations.

The Role

We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support day-to-day marketing operations at Van Duzer. This role works closely with our Marketing Manager and touches a wide range of projects — from email campaigns and event coordination to collateral production and social media. They will also work on special projects with our Operations Manager to support the business. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable with both creative and administrative tasks, and genuinely excited about wine country storytelling. You don’t have to know a lot about wine, we can teach you that!

Key Responsibilities

Email Marketing
•  Execute 2–4 marketing emails per month in Klaviyo, aligned with the seasonal marketing calendar and brand voice.
•  Coordinate timing, content, and scheduling with the Marketing Manager.

Event Coordination & Calendar Management
•  Own the event calendar — set up ticketing in Commerce7, keep the website current, and produce event-specific graphics and collateral.
•  Coordinate logistics details across internal stakeholders and ensure all event assets are ready ahead of schedule.

Website Updates
•  Handle routine website maintenance — swapping images and banners, adding events and tickets, updating copy as needed.
•  Coordinate with our Marketing Manager on larger updates and with our external web designer (Hardpour) on new pages and major structural changes.

Collateral Design & Production
•  Update tasting flight menus, brochures, and other printed materials for the tasting room on a seasonal basis.
•  Design and produce marketing and event collateral, maintaining brand consistency across all touchpoints. Knowledge of Canva required and is sufficient.
•  Manage Wine Club shipment collateral from concept through production — coordinating design, print, and pickup from the printer.

Wine Submissions & Media Relations Support
•  Monitor the WVWA Editorial Opportunities spreadsheet and submit wines to relevant wine writers in alignment with vintage transitions.
•  Facilitate wine sample shipments to lifestyle publication writers when requested through our PR partner, Lawrence PR.
•  Maintain awareness of upcoming editorial calendars and proactively flag relevant opportunities.

Wine Tech Notes
•  Coordinate creation of tech notes for new vintages and wines with our winemaker.
•  Upload and maintain tech notes on the website, ensuring they're always current and complete.

Social Media
•  Own day-to-day social media execution across relevant platforms, working within an agreed-upon content calendar and strategic direction.
•  Create or source on-brand content — photography, graphics, and copy — that reflects Van Duzer's voice and aesthetic.
•  Monitor engagement and flag relevant trends or opportunities.

Blog Content
•  Contribute to a cadence of one blog post per month, writing or co-developing content in partnership with the Marketing Manager.
•  Example topics span vineyard updates, vintage stories, team profiles, event recaps, and brand storytelling — always grounded in place and voice.

Special Projects
•  Support marketing manager on special initiatives as they arise — seasonal campaigns, partnerships, events, and more.

What We're Looking For
•  1–3 years of experience in wine marketing, communications, or a related field preferred — wine background required, so you can hit the ground running.
•  Proficiency or strong working knowledge of email marketing platforms (Klaviyo preferred), Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and basic website editing.
•  Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation; experience managing a brand account would be a strong asset, and work examples are very welcomed.
•  Strong written communication skills with an eye for brand voice and detail.
•  Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
•  Comfortable working with print production vendors and managing collateral timelines.
•  Genuine interest in wine, agriculture, or Pacific Northwest food and beverage culture.
•  Experience with Commerce7 or similar wine DTC/ticketing platforms is a bonus, but not required.
