Job Title: Lead Machine and Cellar Operator
Reports to: Operations Manager and Operations/Maintenance Coordinator

Job Scope
Supporting the work of the Operations Management and Leading the Cellar. First 6 months will include machine and cellar training with promotion to lead position after the 6-month probationary period. Shifts can include day, swing, or night.

Operations and Cellar Duties
•  Operates machines including, but not limited to, distillation columns, crossflow units, reverse osmosis machine, pumps, and external auxiliary equipment.
•  Supervises all day-to-day cellar activities and ensures that proper SOPs and safety procedures are followed.
•  Supervises and trains cellar workers in the performance of cellar and cleaning procedures, ensuring compliance with all operational policies and procedures.
•  Leads daily shift change handoff for all scheduled shifts (day, swing, or night), including direct instruction and lead-by-example for next-shift workload.
•  Implements and ensures compliance with company-mandated programs and procedures including, but not limited to, Safety Programs, Standard Operating Procedures, and Training Program.
•  Assists and performs routine preventative maintenance with guidance from the Maintenance Coordinator.
•  Reports any issues or repair needs to the Maintenance Coordinator.
•  Ensures that all winery sanitation practices, general cleanliness, and chemical storage are adhered to.
•  Identifies, communicates, and implements process improvement opportunities for operational efficiencies and product quality assurance.
•  Assures completion of daily reports and tracking logs.
•  Maintains knowledge and understanding of hazardous material and safety procedures and assures adherence by the cellar team.
•  Ensures all cellar staff are adhering to mandatory safety programs and protocols.
•  Ensures that adequate supplies, materials, and equipment are on hand to support department functions.
•  Promotes a positive work environment and teamwork.

Ability to perform the necessary physical labor: lift at least 50 lbs. above the shoulders, climb ladders and stairs, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, and stand for several hours, at times with exposure to the elements, including sun, rain, and wind. Fluent in English reading and writing, both handwritten and computer data entry.
