Job Description:

Rack & Riddle, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the United States, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Samples & Shipping Coordinator to support our Sales team with the preparation, tracking, shipping, delivery, and inventory management of wine samples.



This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping things organized, follows established processes and instructions carefully, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor, as this individual represents Rack & Riddle and supports our Sales team and customers.



The ideal schedule for this role is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  The role is part time with 15-20 hours per week.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Samples & Shipping

•           Prepare and ship wine samples according to instructions and required timelines.

•           Print and apply shipping and bottle labels accurately.

•           Prepare samples for UPS shipments and maintain a daily log of tracking numbers.

•           Ensure samples are packaged securely and appropriately for shipment.

•           Understand and manage sample turnaround times, including winemaking timelines.

•           Coordinate local sample deliveries and intra-company deliveries.

•           Gather and prepare samples for events based on instructions from the Sales team.

 

Inventory & Supplies

•           Keep the sample inventory tracker accurate and up to date.

•           Monitor sample inventory levels and order additional samples as needed.

•           Maintain adequate supplies, including pulp, boxes, labels, label printer ink, and other shipping materials.

•           Keep shipping and sample preparation areas clean, organized, and well stocked.

•           Maintain good organization of physical spaces to ensure samples and supplies are easy to locate.

 

Communication & Coordination

•           Communicate clearly and consistently with the Sales team regarding sample requests, shipping status, inventory, and delivery needs.

•           Follow instructions carefully and ask questions when clarification is needed.

•           Communicate any delays, inventory issues, or other concerns promptly.

•           Work closely with team members to ensure samples are prepared and delivered within required turnaround times.

 

Requirements

A successful candidate’s background includes:

•           Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

•           Reliable and able to work under limited supervision, checking in on non-routine or unfamiliar situations.

•           Able to organize and manage multiple tasks, with guidance on shifting priorities.

•           Quick learner who is comfortable learning new processes and systems.

•           Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

•           Strong communication skills.

•           Professional and courteous demeanor when representing Rack & Riddle and the Sales team.

•           Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change.

•           Valid driver’s license and ability to make local and intra-company deliveries.

•           Basic computer skills and comfort using shipping and inventory tracking systems.

•           1–2 years of experience in shipping, inventory, warehouse, or a related environment preferred.

•           Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move shipping materials and sample cases throughout the workday.

•           Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

•           Must have a valid driver’s license for delivery responsibilities.

These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend on numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate skills, knowledge, and education.
