Callan Cellars is a small, independent winery in Woodinville, Washington, producing handcrafted wines with a focus on quality, character, and thoughtful winemaking. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking harvest intern to join our team for the upcoming harvest.

This is a hands-on opportunity to experience the full harvest and winemaking process in a small winery environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, works well as part of a team, and is excited to get their hands dirty while gaining practical cellar experience. You will work closely with the winemaker and be involved in many aspects of production from grape processing through fermentation and cellar work.

Responsibilities

* Grape receiving, sorting, crushing, and processing
* Cleaning and sanitation of cellar equipment, tanks, barrels, and winery facilities
* Punch-downs and pump-overs
* Monitoring fermentations, including Brix and temperature readings
* Juice and wine sampling and basic cellar measurements
* Fermentation additions and other winemaking tasks
* Barrel filling, topping, and other barrel work
* Pressing and transferring wine
* Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe cellar
* Assisting with other winery tasks as needed throughout harvest

Qualifications:

* A strong work ethic and positive attitude
* Self-motivated with attention to detail
* Willingness to learn and take direction
* Previous cellar experience or Enology/Wine Science education is helpful but **not required**
* Previous forklift experience is a plus but not required
* Ability to work long hours on your feet in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
* Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and the full harvest schedule
* Most importantly, a genuine interest in wine and a desire to learn the craft of winemaking

Schedule

Harvest is demanding and schedules can change quickly depending on the vintage. Full-time availability from now through early November is required, including weekends and extended hours during peak periods.
