Scarsdale Wine Merchants is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate Wine Consultant to join our dynamic team. Led by owner and Sommelier, Kristie Petrullo, SWM focuses on current and back vintage wines for both everyday consumption and collecting.

As a Wine Consultant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, sharing your knowledge of our wines, and assisting customers in selecting the perfect wine for their needs. Hospitality is at the forefront of every interaction with our clients.

If you have held a Sommelier or a Wine Sales position and are looking for a change while still working with the world’s greatest wines, this is for you. Knowledge of fine wine and vintages required.

Duties
- Assist customers in choosing wines based on their preferences and occasions
- Provide information on different wine varieties, regions, and pairings
- Offer recommendations for food and wine pairings
- Process sales transactions accurately using a POS system
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Upsell products to enhance customer experience

Requirements

- 5 years experience with retail or restaurant wine sales
- Strong ability to sell and promote products effectively
- Experience in cash handling and using a cash register
- Knowledge of classic wine regions as well as current trends
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Wine experience a must
