Job Description:

Marketing Director
Bledsoe Wine Estates | Walla Walla, WA
Location: Walla Walla, WA
Reports To: Josh McDaniels, CEO and Director of Winemaking
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and event weekends
Position Overview
Bledsoe Wine Estates is seeking a strategic, hands-on Marketing Director to lead marketing across Doubleback, Bledsoe Family Winery, and Bledsoe|McDaniels.
This person will own the marketing plan, understand and grow our customer base, strengthen our brand storytelling, and continually find smarter ways to drive engagement and revenue.
This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to help shape and grow the marketing function over time. We are looking for someone who is excited to push our brands forward and has the drive to see ideas through from opportunity to execution. When something isn't working, their instinct is to understand why, find a solution, and keep moving.
Key Areas of Ownership
Strategic Marketing & Brand Planning
•  Develop and manage the annual marketing strategy and calendar across all three brands, aligned with company priorities and sales goals.
•  Keep campaigns, releases, emails, creative, and projects on schedule.
•  Anticipate upcoming needs and line up the people and resources needed to execute.
•  Manage outside marketing partners and vendors.

Customer Strategy & Revenue Growth
•  Understand customer purchasing behavior and engagement to identify opportunities.
•  Build customer segments and targeted campaigns rather than marketing everything to everyone.
•  Develop automated and evergreen marketing programs that create engagement and revenue year-round.
•  Analyze results and use them to improve what we do next.
Brand Strategy and Storytelling
•  Create marketing that helps customers understand our brands, wines, and why they should care.
•  Own the strategy, messaging, and execution of email, website, digital, and marketing campaigns across all three brands.
•  Continually improve creative, templates, messaging, and customer experience.
•  Protect and strengthen the individual identity of each brand.
Marketing Operations and Innovation
•  Be hands on and willing to execute.
•  Use technology, automation, vendors, and outside resources to work smarter.
•  Identify work that can be simplified, outsourced, or eventually delegated.
•  Help determine what additional marketing support is needed as the business grows.
•  Manage day-to-day marketing needs including tech sheets, packaging and label updates, website updates, sales materials, and brand assets.
What Success Looks Like
•  Marketing happens on time without constant oversight.
•  Our storytelling and campaigns continually get better.
•  We understand and market to customer segments in increasingly sophisticated ways.
•  Automated and evergreen marketing generates meaningful engagement and revenue.
•  New ideas, audiences, and revenue opportunities are proactively brought forward.
•  The marketing function becomes more efficient and scalable over time.
Experience and Leadership
•  Highly organized. Strong at managing timelines, deadlines, and multiple priorities without losing sight of the details.
•  Resourceful and persistent. You don't stop at “I don't know how” or “that didn't work.” You ask questions, find solutions, try another approach, and see things through.
•  Strategic and hands on. You can identify the bigger opportunity and are willing to do the work required to make it happen.
•  Customer curious. You want to understand who our customers are, how they behave, and where new opportunities exist.
•  Driven to improve. You naturally challenge the status quo and look for ways to make brands, campaigns, systems, and customer experiences better.
•  High ownership. You take responsibility for outcomes, figure things out, and know when to leverage outside expertise rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
•  Team and culture minded. You communicate directly, collaborate well, and contribute to a positive, solutions focused environment. You’re willing to jump in outside your lane when the team needs it, while still owning your responsibilities and results.

Qualifications & Skills
•  5+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within wine, luxury goods, hospitality, consumer brands, or a related industry.
•  Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple brands, campaigns, deadlines, and priorities.
•  Strong understanding of email marketing, customer segmentation, digital marketing, ecommerce, and campaign performance.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
•  Strong working knowledge of Excel, including the ability to organize, filter, and analyze customer and campaign data.
•  Comfortable working within website CMS and ecommerce platforms and learning new technology.
•  Experience with CRM, email marketing, and customer data platforms; Klaviyo experience preferred.
•  Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and brand consistency.
•  Ability to interpret customer and campaign data and turn insights into actionable marketing opportunities.
•  Comfortable both developing strategy and executing day-to-day marketing work.
•  Wine industry knowledge is preferred, but curiosity, strong brand instincts, and the ability to learn quickly are essential.
