Job Description:

Director of DTC Marketing

About the Role
We're a small, family-owned winery and we're looking for a creative, driven marketer to lead our direct-to-consumer efforts for Marine Layer Wines. This is a hands-on role — you'll shape how we tell our story across every aspect of our customer interaction, from digital campaigns and social media to tastings and in-person experiences. You'll work closely with our team, carry real ownership over your work, and have the opportunity to make a genuine mark on how we grow.

The Job Responsibilities
•  Set the direction. Build and guide our annual marketing roadmap — identifying seasonal opportunities, aligning campaign messaging with our wines and brand story, and ensuring our marketing drives both sales, and customer loyalty and retention.
•  Run our digital presence. Lead email and social media campaigns from concept to execution. Manage our editorial calendar, develop content that feels authentically ours, and keep our website current and compelling.
•  Bring our brand to life. Oversee the creation of all marketing materials — photography, collateral, signage, and wine technical sheets — ensuring everything reflects the quality and character of what's in the bottle.
•  Create memorable experiences. Plan and execute our tastings, events, and brand partnerships — on-site and off — including critic visits, tasting room, and event experiences that leave a real impression on guests.
•  Champion our wine releases. Collaborate with the team to build launch campaigns for new vintages, from messaging and timing to content and promotion.
•  Grow the right relationships. Cultivate genuine connections with customers, hospitality partners, press, and aligned brands that strengthen our reputation and open new doors.
•  Track what matters. Keep a close eye on performance across all channels — from social media metrics to event outcomes — and use those insights to continually improve performance.

What You Bring
•  Proven experience in DTC, brand, lifestyle, or consumer marketing, wine or hospitality background is a real plus.
•  A strong grasp of social media: content creation, short-form video, platform nuance, and the ability to identify what genuinely resonates with people.
•  Equally comfortable thinking big-picture and rolling up your sleeves — this role calls for both.
•  Strong writing and communication skills. You can craft a compelling wine story as naturally as a campaign brief.
•  A collaborative, no-ego approach fits a small, tight-knit team.

A Note on Our Hiring
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and make our decisions based on skills, genuine enthusiasm, and ability to be a team player — not a checklist. If this role sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
