Portland winery seeks someone who can do it all. (NOTE: We hope to fill this by 8/21so apply asap)
We are a family-run business of 20 years operating a full-service urban winery.
This is a full-time hands-on cellar job. You will work with the winemaker on all decision making. You will stack and unstack, rack and sanitize, clean and repair. The position requires strong forklift skills, some general mechanical competence, and a continuing drive to excel.
We love to learn every day, but this is not an entry-level job. You must have at least 5 harvests notched on your belt, and continuing winery experience or the equivalent. You will be integral in running harvest (we will see 65+ tons this year) and managing interns. This is your chance to touch the wine every step of the way.
Communication skills are key to keeping this ship sailing. Speak up, ask questions, mark the task as done. Sometimes wine work is intense but that is part of the dance. You don't run away from a mess, but jump in to help fix it.
We care deeply about the quality of our wines. We lose sleep over them. We want you to sleep soundly, but also care deeply.
We like music and laughter. They keep the wind in our sails.
This position will be integral to the continued success of our business. We will pay a good living wage. Position comes with benefits including PTO and holiday pay. There is lots of room for growth.
We believe everyone has the right to succeed. We proudly support the ability of people of all backgrounds and genders to move ahead in our winemaking community.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please submit a cover letter and resume including references.
