Winemaker for fast growing winery close to Brenham and College Station in Washington County, Texas. Located about an hour from Houston, Chapelton Vineyards is seeking a mature individual with at least 4 years experience. Responsibilities will include:

1. Grape and Vineyard Oversight: Monitoring grape quality, determining optimal harvest times, and coordinating with viticulturists to ensure the best raw materials for winemaking.

2. Fermentation and Cellar Operations: Controlling fermentation processes, selecting yeast and bacteria, managing maceration, press cycles, maturation, and temperature regulation

3. Blending and Sensory Evaluation: Conducting blending trials, tasting wines, and making final blend decisions to achieve consistent style and quality

4. Quality Assurance and Laboratory Management: Implementing quality control protocols, performing chemical and microbiological analyses, monitoring pH, acidity, alcohol, sulfites, and taking corrective actions to prevent faults

5. Bottling and Packaging: Supervising filtration, stabilization, and bottling processes to ensure product consistency and safety

6. Production Planning and Team Management: Creating seasonal production plans, coordinating harvest logistics, managing cellar staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

7. Marketing and Customer Engagement: Participating in tastings, collaborating with marketing teams, and supporting sales initiatives to promote the winery’s brand

Required Skills and Attributes
