Four Ponds Estate Winery is a boutique winery located in Amador County. Experiencing our inaugural harvest at the new winemaking facility, we're seeking an experienced and dependable Harvest Cellar Worker. Working alongside our team, this position participates in every stage of winemaking process. Because of our small size, there are varied responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with all cellar operations during the 2026 harvest.
Prepare the winery for harvest, including equipment cleaning and sanitation adhering to strict sanitation protocols.
Receive, sort, crush, and press grapes during harvest.
Perform pump-overs, punch-downs, wine transfers, racking, and barrel work.
Clean and sanitize tanks, barrels, hoses, pumps, presses, and cellar equipment to the highest standards.
Monitor fermentations and assist with wine additions.
Assist with blending trials and preparation for bottling.
Maintain accurate cellar records.
Assist with light equipment maintenance and other winery projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 harvest experiences in the cellar, or two years cellar work at a winery.
Absolutely MUST be adept at all cellar activities, including all sanitation, inoculations, and all cellar protocols.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Reliable and punctual.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to work extended hours during harvest.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable standing for extended periods.
Ability to climb ladders, work around tanks, barrels, and operation cellar equipment safely.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and wet conditions.
