PRIMA Vini has been one of East Bay’s premier destinations for distinctive wines and spirits since 1977. Now located in downtown Danville, we are a family and diverse owned independent wine shop and wine bar with particular depth in the wines of Italy, France, and California, and plenty of great bottles from elsewhere.

We are looking for a reliable, curious, and detail-oriented person to join our very small team. The heart of this position is fulfilling and shipping customer orders and helping operate our wine bar, along with stocking, wine club fulfillment, retail customer service, and event support as needed.

This is an active, hands-on role rather than a primarily desk-based or traditional sales floor position. During a typical shift, you might pack several shipments, receive and stock wine deliveries, serve guests at the bar, polish glassware, and assist a customer in selecting a bottle to take home.

You do not need to know everything about wine and spirits! We don’t! You just need to have the spirit of hospitality, be comfortable with physical work, care about getting details right, and be genuinely interested in learning.

What You’ll Do
Pick, verify, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment, pickup, and local delivery
Receive deliveries, stock shelves, and organize merchandise and shipping materials
Pay close attention to producers, wines, vineyards, vintages, bottle sizes, and quantities
Serve wines by the glass and tasting flights and settle checks using Square POS
Maintain glassware, bar supplies, and indoor and outdoor service areas
Help pack approximately 40–50 wine club orders for shipping each month
Assist with retail customers, tastings, events, inventory, and general shop operations

PRIMA currently has an indoor wine-bar and a newly expanded outdoor patio service. This role will include serving more guests outdoors, with additional walking, table service, and setup responsibilities. You’ll keep the tips earned during the wine bar shifts.

You’ll Fit Right In If You-
Have experience in retail, restaurants, bars, tasting rooms, shipping, or fulfillment
Are dependable, organized, and attentive to small but important details
Are comfortable moving between customer service and more physical work
Have a genuine interest in wine and spirits and are eager to learn
Work well in a very small team where everyone pitches in
Wine education through CMS, WSET, SWE, or another program is welcome but not at all required. Knowledge of Italian wine is a plus. Experience with any retail POS like Square or Toast is also a plus.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements-
This position involves substantial standing, walking, bending, stocking, packing, and working both indoors and outdoors. You must be able to regularly lift and carry cases of wine weighing approximately 35–40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Outdoor wine bar service may take place during warm Danville weather.
This is a part-time, variable-hour position. Hours will depend on wine bar service, order volume, events, and shop coverage. Potential days would include both weekdays and weekends. A minimum number of weekly hours is not currently guaranteed. We do anticipate the potential for additional hours during the holiday season.

Compensation-
$24 - $26 per hour, depending on experience
