Monterey Wine Company is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team beginning September 2026 through the completion of the 2026 harvest season. This position supports harvest operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, and installing winery production and facility equipment while promoting a safe work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on cellar, crush, production, and facility equipment.
Perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC, welding, fabrication, machining, and equipment repairs.
Fabricate replacement parts and install new or repaired equipment.
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, piping, fabrication, and construction schematics.
Troubleshoot, build, and install high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including control panels, switches, relays, transformers, breakers, PLCs, and VFDs.
Assist with facility improvements, construction, equipment installations, and movement of materials and equipment.
Identify maintenance needs and communicate repair recommendations to the Maintenance Manager.
Safely operate hand tools, portable power tools, shop equipment, and maintenance machinery.
Work independently or collaboratively with the Maintenance Team to support production needs.
Support Monterey Wine Company's sustainability initiatives through conservation, energy efficiency, recycling, and environmentally responsible practices.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of maintenance experience in a winery, food and beverage, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
Working knowledge of:
Mechanical systems
Electrical troubleshooting and repair
Plumbing (PVC and copper)
Welding, machining, and stainless steel/aluminum fabrication
Refrigeration and HVAC systems
PLCs, VFDs, and basic programming
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Requirements
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with all company safety policies.
Available to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required during harvest.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb ladders, work overhead, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Valid California Class C driver's license with the ability to meet the Company's driver eligibility requirements.
Compensation

Pay Range: $24.00–$29.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.
