Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the oversight of our small but mighty team and the daily winemaking & production activities required to meet standards for safety, quality, quantity, efficiency, receiving, delivery, and operations. This individual will work closely with internal & external business partners and customers to ensure timely and accurate inventory
management. Responsible for tactical planning and facilitation of employee productivity, while ensuring a positive environment where employees are valued and respected. Duties
include production winemaking, warehouse management, directing wine styles, innovation in alcohol beverage production and may require flexibility with weekly schedule. This position
follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure work is completed as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Duties
•  Oversee inhouse winemaking and operational effectiveness
of winery facilities.
•  Directs cellar, harvest, laboratory, and bottling activities to ensure conformance to
standard operating procedures and other related winemaking practices.
•  Shipping and Receiving/Inventory Management: facilitate bulk wine deliveries to and from
winery: receive and manage wine additives, incoming wine
•  Receive and manage winery production supplies: chemicals (ordering, inventory, and
arrival), equipment and hardware for cellar (receive, inspect, order as needed)
•  Facilitate shipping and receiving equipment for maintenance and build out projects
•  Identify, analyze, and resolve issues affecting winery performance
•  Propose and execute improvements to business processes and equipment as necessary
•  Ensures appropriate record keeping for legal compliance with federal, state and local
regulations relating to winemaking activities and facilities. This includes:
o Pull inventory, bottling, government (5120), and transaction reports from Vintrace,
submit to VP of Production and the Controller by the 10th of the month;
o Keep SDS information available to employees for all wine additives and cleaning
products used in facilities; per OSHA standards
o Records daily wine movements on shared Bulk Needs Master file;
o Provide tasting notes and fact sheet information when requested. Keep the Wine
Analysis file for the sales team up to date whether in Drop Box or Brand Manager.
o Wastewater monthly reporting to county and State
•  Communicate effectively, concisely, and constructively, both verbally and in writing. Must
be timely and accurate with distribution of information
•  Interdepartmental Facilitation: Provide support to VP of Operations and Admin/Front-of�house by providing logistical and peripheral support concerning supply chain
management, facility integrity, health and safety team membership, interdepartmental
communication and teamwork.
•  Assist with landscaping maintenance and other facility upkeep.
•  Cellar activities: Trains personnel in cellar activities as needed. Any and all cellar work in
tank cellar or barrel room, forklift operation, hoist operation, harvest overtime work,
cleaning and organizing, participate in all production training activities including safety
meetings and other training programs.
•  Weighmaster Duties
•  Responsible for compliance with CCSW and CCOF organic & sustainability policies and practices which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound. This is done by supporting programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results.
•  Follow safe operating procedures, support safety programs and policies to safeguard
personal and food safety, company property, environmental and team member's safety.
•  Work with management team on build out projects and ordering as needed.
•  Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Safety/Health
•  Enforces the company’s Injury & Illness Prevention Program to all employees.
•  Motivates and ensures employees adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
•  Immediately reports all employee injuries to the Winemaker – Facility Manager and
Human Resources.
•  Reports any unsafe behavior or practices to the Winemaker – Facility Manager and Human
Resources.
Qualifications
•  Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Equivalent
•  Six to eight years of winemaking and related experience.
•  Commitment to Excellence and high standards
•  Excellent written and oral communication skills
•  Extensive knowledge in subordinates’ duties and tasks
•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and
workflow
•  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with
enthusiasm
•  High level of organizational skills, and attention to detail
•  Proficient use of MS Office, Vintrace, One Drive Cloud
•  Ability to deal with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
•  Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method
•  Spanish speaking is a bonus
