Location: Remote – California (Must Reside Within Territory)
Reports to: Vice President of Sales

THE OPPORTUNITY
California is our largest and most important market, and we're looking for an exceptional leader to help shape its future.

As Director of Sales, California, you'll lead the execution of our sales strategy across the state while developing a high-performing team and strengthening distributor and customer partnerships. This is a hands-on, boots on the ground, leadership role for someone who enjoys spending time in the market, coaching others, and translating strategy into results.

We're looking for a leader who is driven, values collaboration, and builds lasting relationships through trust and integrity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead the Business
•  Develop and execute California's sales strategy in alignment with company objectives and luxury brand positioning.
•  Drive revenue growth, distribution, pricing, inventory management, and market execution.
•  Monitor market trends and business performance to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
•  Ensure consistent brand standards and pricing across all channels.

Develop People
•  Lead, coach, and develop Regional Sales Managers and Field Sales Managers.
•  Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•  Lead business reviews, planning sessions, and team meetings that drive alignment and execution.
•  Partner closely with National Accounts, Eastern Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.

Build Partnerships
•  Cultivate strong relationships with distributor leadership, key accounts, and industry partners.
•  Represent Silver Oak through market visits, customer engagement, education, and events.
•  Champion our brands while delivering exceptional service to customers and distributors.

Drive Performance
•  Manage regional budgets and sales forecasts.
•  Analyze KPIs to guide business decisions and maximize opportunities.
•  Communicate market insights, business performance, and strategic priorities with leadership.

WHO YOU ARE
You are someone who:
•  Is motivated by achieving ambitious goals and continuously improving.
•  Puts the team first, values feedback, and leads with authenticity.
•  Builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, and exercises sound business judgment.

You're equally comfortable presenting to distributor executives, coaching a Regional Sales Manager, reviewing business analytics, or spending a day in the market with customers.

WHAT YOU BRING
•  Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•  5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in the wine, beverage, or luxury consumer goods industry.
•  Proven success leading teams and driving business growth.
•  Strong relationships with California distributors and key on- and off-premise accounts preferred.
•  Experience managing pricing, forecasting, and sales planning.
•  Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
•  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
•  Must reside in California and be willing to travel extensively throughout the territory.
•  Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
