Job Summary:
We are a leading vineyard management company serving premier wine grape growers throughout Northern California. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting functions and support the continued growth of our organization.

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting timely financial reporting.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, experience using QuickBooks and AgCode, and an understanding of agricultural or vineyard operations. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
•  Manage the company’s daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
•  Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and operational and cost-accounting information in AgCode.
•  Oversee client billing and ensure that labor, equipment, materials, and other vineyard-related costs are accurately allocated and invoiced.
•  Review vendor invoices, purchase documentation, and payment requests for accuracy and proper approval.
•  Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts as needed.
•  Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other balance-sheet accounts.
•  Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
•  Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, schedules, and management reports for review by the CFO.
•  Review vineyard, ranch, department, and client-level financial activity for accuracy and completeness.
•  Assist with cash-flow monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
•  Coordinate with payroll, operations, vineyard managers, and administrative staff to ensure accounting information is complete and accurate.
•  Support the CFO with internal controls, accounting procedures, audits, tax filings, insurance reporting, and special projects.
•  Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable record-retention requirements.
•  Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
•  Provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting team members, as applicable.

Qualifications
•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
•  Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or overseeing accounting functions.
•  Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is required.
•  Experience using AgCode is strongly preferred.
•  Agricultural, vineyard management, farming, winery, or related industry experience is highly desirable.
•  Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and month-end closing procedures.
•  Experience with job costing, client billing, cost allocation, and multi-entity accounting is preferred.
•  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
•  Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•  High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
•  Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
•  Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities with limited supervision.
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•  Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
