Job Description:

We are looking for a temporary winery production employee to assist with grape processing and wine production during the harvest (crush) season. The ideal candidate will assist during one of the busiest periods in a winery by providing support throughout the winemaking process under the direction of the Cellar Master and Production Manager.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
•  Receive and process incoming grape loads.
•  Operate crush equipment, including crushers, destemmers, presses, pumps, and conveyors.
•  Perform pump-overs, punch-downs, and tank transfers as directed.
•  Monitor fermentations and record production data.
•  Add yeast, nutrients, enzymes, and other approved winemaking materials under supervision.
•  Clean and sanitize tanks, hoses, pumps, barrels, and production equipment.
•  Assist with wine movements, filtration, and barrel work.
•  Maintain accurate production and sanitation records.
•  Follow all food safety, quality control, and winery sanitation procedures.
•  Observe and comply with safety regulations, including lockout/tagout, confined space, chemical handling, and PPE requirements.
•  Assist with general housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized cellar.

Physical Requirements
•  Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
•  Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work on elevated platforms for extended periods.
•  Work in wet, cold, hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
•  Work extended hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime during harvest.
•  Visual acuity
•  Ability to hear
•  Use of both hands and finger dexterity
•  Adhere to company PPE (personal protective equipment) policies

Qualifications
•  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
•  One year of previous winery, agricultural, manufacturing, or food production experience is required.
•  Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
•  Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate equipment.
•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
