The Senior Director, Supply Chain: Systems & Sustainability, is a strategic senior leadership role that reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works alongside peer leaders in Operations, Finance, IT, and Sustainability.
This leader owns our full Supply Chain function (procurement, demand planning, inventory, warehouse, logistics, and customer service) and carries direct accountability for two dimensions that increasingly define how Supply Chain performs:
1. Supply Chain Systems: leading our ERP implementation and ongoing modernization, applying AI and automation to forecasting, planning, and procurement, and serving as the primary business partner to IT.
2. Supply Chain Sustainability: building the operational processes and supplier programs needed to meet B Corp recertification, Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC), SEDEX/SMETA, and retailer-driven human rights due diligence programs.
This is a role for a builder: someone energized by ambiguity, who treats cross-functional partnership as the job, and who wants to leave a lasting mark on how a growing, entrepreneurial company operates.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Supply Chain Strategy & Operations
- Own end-to-end supply chain performance across Purchasing, Demand Planning, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Logistics.
- Direct the S&OP process, including sales tracking, production planning, inventory management, and vintage forecasting.
- Translate multi-year forecasts into vintage and varietal-level grape procurement needs ahead of each harvest.
- Lead sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation for raw materials, packaging, and services.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of managers, analysts, and specialists.
Systems, AI & IT Partnership
- Serve as primary contact for our recent ERP implementation and ongoing modernization roadmap.
- Lead post-implementation governance: data integrity, user adoption, release management, continuous improvement.
- Identify and deploy AI/ML applications across demand forecasting, procurement, and inventory optimization.
- Serve as the primary business partner to IT/Information Systems on all supply chain software needs, co-owning the technology roadmap.
Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
- Own the operational processes needed to meet B Corp recertification (under B Lab's new standards), ROC, SEDEX/SMETA, and retailer HRDD requirements (including Marks & Spencer's supplier program).
- Build supplier-facing programs: codes of conduct, audit cadences, corrective action tracking.
- Ensure ERP and supply chain data structures capture what's needed for third-party ESG verification and public impact reporting.
Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
- Co-own demand planning and S&OP cycles with Finance; partner on annual budgeting for COGS, freight, warehousing, and CapEx.
- Build strong working relationships across Winemaking, Operations, Finance, Sales, IT, HR, and Sustainability.
- Mentor and develop direct reports; build a team structure that scales with the company's growth.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain, operations, or procurement leadership, including 5+ years in a senior role with direct P&L, budget, or departmental accountability.
- Demonstrated ERP leadership including at least one full-cycle implementation and multi-year post-implementation governance. This is a hard requirement.
- Hands-on experience applying AI, machine learning, or advanced automation to supply chain functions (forecasting, planning, procurement, or inventory).
- Proven experience partnering with IT/Information Systems as a business owner of technology initiatives, not solely as a requester of support.
- Direct experience with sustainability/ESG compliance frameworks (B Corp, SEDEX/SMETA, HRDD, or comparable). Food, beverage, or agricultural industry experience strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing and warehousing environment experience required; wine, beverage, or agricultural production experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Strategic partner with senior leadership presence to influence without direct authority across functions and with external partners (auditors, certifying bodies, retail customers, ERP vendors).
- Comfortable leading through ambiguity, balancing multi-year strategic thinking with the operational urgency of a harvest-driven business.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Power Pivot/DAX/Power BI; working knowledge of ERP and database management.
- Executive-level verbal, written, and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to the COO and Board-level audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable helping define the playbook, not just following one.
Preferred
- Procurement or supply chain certifications (CPPO, CPPM, CPSM, APICS/CSCP), PMP, or Lean/Six Sigma training.
- Prior experience with Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC), B Corp certification cycles, or retailer HRDD audit programs (e.g., M&S, SMETA).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office and production/warehouse environment; regular on-site presence in Parlier winery expected.
- Travel required, less than 10%.
- May require sitting or standing for extended periods; extensive computer usage.
- Light lifting of 50 pounds or less (wine cases) during facility walkthroughs.
