Position Description: Director of Marketing

Position Summary
The Director of Marketing is a senior strategic leader responsible for stewarding the Darioush brand, supporting both direct-to-consumer and wholesale growth, and strengthening long-term enterprise value. This role blends brand strategy, financial accountability, digital transformation, consumer and trade insight, and cross-functional partnership with ownership, winemaking, DTC, sales, and key stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Brand Strategy, Insight & Innovation
• Serve as strategic brand leader, grounded in consumer insight, trade awareness, and market trends.
• Translate consumer and trade insights into clear brand positioning across DTC and wholesale channels.
• Lead product, packaging, messaging, brand tools, and creative asset development in collaboration with winemaking, sales, stakeholders, and agencies.
• Ensure consistent, elevated brand expression across consumer, trade, digital, and on-estate touchpoints.
Financial & Performance Leadership
• Own marketing-related budgeting, forecasting, campaign performance, and KPI development.
• Align marketing investment with revenue growth, margin objectives, DTC and wholesale priorities, and long-term brand value.
• Evaluate performance across channels and manage agency, media, production, and creative spend with accountability.
Revenue Growth, Customer Acquisition & Trade Support
• Support revenue goals across Wine Club, ecommerce, wholesale, national accounts, and other key sales channels.
• Partner with DTC and wholesale sales leadership to align campaigns, storytelling, trade tools, market priorities, and customer engagement strategies.
• Guide brand alignment for Art & Object retail presentation, as applicable.
Content, Communications & Social Media
• Oversee integrated marketing and communications calendars across DTC, wholesale, email, web, social, print, trade, and on-estate channels.
• Lead content development, including copy, design, photography, video, collateral, and agency oversight.
• Guide social media strategy and ensure communications reflect Darioush standards for tone, visual quality, accuracy, and luxury positioning.
Public Relations, Trade & Industry Presence
• Develop and execute public relations strategy to expand editorial reach, strengthen credibility, and support national and global sales efforts.
• Manage agency relationships, press pitching, hosting, media coordination, and key industry communications.
• Oversee auction strategy and lot development for key industry and philanthropic auctions, including NWWF, ANV, PNV, and FNV.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Planning
• Coach and develop a small, high-performing marketing team with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with ownership on estate legacy planning, long-term vision, and transition readiness.
• Collaborate with DTC, hospitality, sales, winemaking, finance, and operations to align brand and business priorities.
Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive marketing leadership experience, preferably within wine, luxury, hospitality, consumer brands, or related industries.
• Experience leading brand strategy, DTC and wholesale marketing support, digital marketing, ecommerce, CRM, PR, trade tools, and agency partnerships.
• Strong financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, ROI analysis, and performance reporting.
• Proven ability to translate consumer insight, market trends, and business goals into effective campaigns and marketing plans.
• Experience managing teams, agencies, creative partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
• Strong understanding of luxury brand standards, elevated guest experience, and high-net-worth client engagement preferred.
• Wine industry knowledge strongly preferred; occasional evenings, weekends, events, and travel required as business needs dictate.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary Range: $145,000 – $175,000 annually
• Classification: Exempt
• Bonus-eligible
