Sugarloaf Wine Company is a premier, small-lot custom crush service winery, located in Santa Rosa, California. We provide a state-of-the art winemaking facility and a dedicated staff to support our winemaker clients in crafting their ultra-premium wines. Sugarloaf Seasonal Cellar Workers assist hands-on with all aspects of the winemaking processes from crush pad to barrel while under the direction of clients and supervision by Sugarloaf staff. This role is full-time, including overtime and weekend work during peak harvest periods, up to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Seasonal Cellar Workers receive extensive training in winemaking techniques, equipment operation and safety practices. The team at Sugarloaf pride themselves in promoting a safe working environment and a positive work culture.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a small winemaking team, experience all aspects of the wine production process, with exposure to multiple winemakers, a myriad of grape varietals, diverse viticultural areas, and over 300 unique lots in one state-of-the-art facility.

The Sugarloaf Seasonal Cellar Worker position requires flexibility, keen attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, physically capable of demanding work, eager to learn, with a passion for wine. We expect the Seasonal Cellar Workers to be considerate, cooperative crew members and contribute to the overall positive energy of our team.

The Sugarloaf Seasonal Cellar Worker position begins August 4 and concludes around late November, depending on the season.

Qualifications:
•  Degree or coursework in winemaking/fermentation sciences is a plus
•  Preference for candidates with previous harvest experience
•  Must commit to working full-time plus extended harvest hours through our harvest season
•  Must be organized with acute attention to details
•  Ability to communicate effectively in English
•  Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, safely
•  Ability to work flexible and extended hours on short notice
•  Must be at least 21 years of age and have legal United States work eligibility

Work Environment Requirements:
•  Ability to work in confined spaces and high places and climb ladders
•  Ability to stand for long periods of time
•  Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
•  Work with chemicals that require protective equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.)
•  Ability to sit, stand, and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time
•  Perform work duties inside and outdoors


Compensation: Hourly wage: $22 (plus overtime pay, per California law).
