Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden is searching for a Production Assistant to join our team.
Located in the Applegate Valley AVA, within Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley AVA, Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden is a small, family-owned winery that grows grape varietals historically associated with the Rhône region of France: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne. All of our wines are made on-site from only estate-grown fruit.
We are a self-farmed, Demeter certified Biodynamic, and CCOF certified Organic, and have been farming with this ethos since the first plantings in 2005. We practice thoughtful low-intervention winemaking, with the sincere goal of producing honest expressions of place.
Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden is committed to crafting wines at the highest level possible, with thoughtful and careful consideration to every element of the process. The right candidate for this position is passionate about wine and wine making, endeavors to continuously learn and make improvements, is interested in the details, and has a desire to make contributions towards the evolution of the wines.
The Production Assistant will work alongside the Winemaker in the cellar and the vineyard, and will help with all aspects of wine production common to small ultra-premium wineries, assisting in the operational execution of all physical winery tasks, and contributing to various vineyard operations.
Previous winery experience is not required. However, a positive attitude, sincere personality, and ability to work happily within a very small team is absolutely necessary.
This is a hands-on physical role, requiring the ability to perform various winery and farm tasks, including but not limited to lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, stooping, reaching, and standing or walking for extended periods of time. The ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and orally, is necessary. Applicants must have the legal authority to work in the United States.
