Tasting Coordinator-Part-time position assisting Napa/Sonoma Reviewer for Wine Enthusiast.
Napa/Sonoma Reviewer Tom Capo of Wine Enthusiast is hiring an organized and enthusiastic Tasting Coordinator to join his team in Sebastopol, California. The role is a part time position with an estimated time commitment of 15-20 hours per week, usually spread throughout two-three days each week. There's an opportunity for more hours in the future for the right person.
The Tasting Coordinator manages the formal blind wine tasting process for Capo. The job involves handling all the wine samples shipped to him for review—this will include helping retrieve submitted wines from storage in Healdsburg and transferring them to the home office, where he tastes. (Storage is located in Healdsburg)
The coordinator will be responsible for confirming proper data entry into the WERP system, organizing in office storage, setting up flights, setting up and cleaning up blind tastings, and communicating with wineries and members of the Wine Enthusiast team as needed.

This position includes the following key responsibilities:
Retrieving and organizing wine samples
Confirming submitted wines’ pertinent details into the Wine Enthusiast database
Organizing flights based on Wine Enthusiast blind tasting protocols
Setting up/cleaning up blind tastings
Communicating to wineries and PR personnel on behalf of Capo (Coordinator will have own Wine Enthusiast email account with which to conduct communications)
Communicate with importers and wineries directly to verify the accuracy of product submissions.
Assist New York team remotely with Client Support, managing the Submission Support email inbox.
Assist New York team remotely with database updates following threads in the buying guide corrections email inbox
Assist Editorial Manager with Buying Guide corrections, price adjustments and other client requests
Requirements
Must be 21 years or older
Must have a valid California driver’s license
Must be commutable to the city of Sebastopol
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer literacy
Knowledge of the wine industry or experience a plus, but not necessary
Enthusiasm for wine—a must
Working Environment
The role is a part time position with estimated time commitment of 15-20 hours per week, usually spread throughout two to three days each week.
While wine organization and tasting is conducted at Capo’s home office in Sebastopol, California, the coordinator is free to conduct any needed correspondence to wineries, PR, etc. remotely, so long as it’s done in a timely and professional manner.
Pay rate is $19/hour, paid twice-monthly through Wine Enthusiast payroll.
