About Us
CH Business Services is a winery management company based in Seattle overseeing all areas of operation in multiple wineries located throughout the state of Washington. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of a full client portfolio and thrive in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting operations of a Chelan-area winery, including its restaurant and vineyard. This individual owns accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial reporting. This position will provide miscellaneous accounting for additional winery clients as well.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Sales Entry & Reconciliation
•  Oversee daily entry and reconciliation of restaurant and tasting room sales across all locations
•  Reconcile credit card sales to deposit records and investigate and resolve variances
•  Verify cash handling procedures and ensure timely bank deposits

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
•  Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, approval routing, and timely payment via bill pay
•  Review and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policy

Banking & Cash Management
•  Own the weekly cash flow forecast, proactively flagging shortfalls or opportunities to ownership
•  Perform monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, resolving discrepancies with accuracy and speed
•  Monitor operating balances and execute inter-account transfers to maintain liquidity across entities



Credit Card Management
•  Download and review monthly statements for all corporate credit cards; enter charges and reconcile each account
•  Ensure all card activity is coded accurately to the correct GL accounts
•  Reconcile and pay all credit card balances monthly
•  Identify and escalate unusual card activity or policy exceptions to management

Payroll
•  Independently process multi-cycle payroll for a diverse workforce including tasting room, restaurant, and vineyard staff
•  Prepare and file required payroll reports and tax filings; ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

Financial Reporting
•  Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) on a defined close schedule
•  Lead annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts; track actuals vs. budget and provide variance commentary
•  Develop and maintain winery product cost models, including grape, production, and bottling costs by vintage and SKU
•  Maintain fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules; coordinate with ownership on capital expenditure planning
•  Prepare and post month-end journal entries, accruals, and adjustments; maintain clean, audit-ready general ledger

Qualifications

Required
•  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
•  Full-cycle accounting experience, including AP, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
•  Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling
•  Demonstrated ability to independently own month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
•  Proven track record of managing competing deadlines and delivering accurate work with minimal oversight in a remote or hybrid environment
•  Strong professional judgment, with the confidence to raise issues and recommend solutions proactively

Preferred
•  Experience in hospitality, food & beverage, agriculture, or wine industry accounting
•  Experience reconciling POS systems to accounting software in a restaurant or retail environment
•  Comfort with multi-entity accounting structures and online banking platforms
•  Prior experience with payroll platforms; familiarity with tip income reporting and agricultural payroll is a plus

Work Environment & Schedule
This role is open to candidates based in the greater Seattle area or Chelan, WA. You will collaborate closely with the client owner/CFO and have regular check-ins with our CH Business Services team based in Seattle.
