Martinelli Winery is an established, family-owned winery located in the Russian River Valley specializing in estate grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Syrah.
We are looking for a dynamic Cellar Supervisor to join our team who will be an active member of the cellar crew with strong attention towards safety, detail, logistics, staff training, team building, facility upkeep, and record-keeping. The Cellar Supervisor will be able to lead and assist with all cellar activities and be the driving force in setting up and maintaining an efficient work pace for the production crew.
Essential and Supervisory duties:
• Prioritizes, facilitates and supervises operational activities in the cellar area and barrel rooms
• Supervises and trains cellar workers in the performance and quality of cellar and cleaning procedures, ensuring compliance with all operational policies and procedures
• Set the pace and energy level for the cellar staff while working along with crew
• Performs all levels of wine-work and equipment operations
• Maintains knowledge and understanding of hazardous material and safety procedures assuring adherence by subordinate staff.
• Ensures proper equipment use, maintenance, storage, and sanitation for all cellar equipment
• Ensure basic Preventive Maintenance for designated equipment is completed
• Delegate tasks to each team member and strategize set-up and operation
• Supervise all day-to-day cellar activities and the execution of work orders
• Reconcile and approve completed work orders before they are returned
• Promotes teamwork among operations and all winery personnel
• Trains and develops cellar staff in winery operations, including production planning and continual protocol improvement, with final approval from winemaker
• Serves as a resource and mentor to cellar staff in winery operations, leadership and management
• Demonstrates leadership and professionalism and serves as a role model
• Accountable for all shift activities during harvest
• Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of winery production experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
- Minimum 3 years driving forklift in a winery or barrel storage setting
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as math skills required
- Knowledge of safe production practices, including safety of equipment and following procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. and stand for long periods of time
