We are a small family-owned estate vineyard and winery located on top of Howell Mountain in the Napa Valley. We are looking for a person with a passion for wine, attention to details, a great attitude, and solid work ethic to join our close-knit team for the season. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their winemaking skills with exposure to a wide variety of grapes and techniques, at the highest quality level.

We’d love for you to have at least one harvest experience and/or a related degree, but it’s not required. This will be a hands-on position involving extensive amounts of time on your feet. The willingness to work flexible hours and days, including night and early mornings, especially during key periods and under various weather conditions is required.

The position begins in early August and will continue through mid-December. There is also potential to continue into the New Year, depending on performance during harvest and work needs.

A Few Responsibilities:

•  Fruit receival and processing, daily pump-overs & punch-downs, drain-and-pressings, rackings & transfers, wine and must additions.
•  Assist with topping, sampling, stirring, barrel-downs.
•  Maintain the highest standard for sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and cellar, aka LOTS OF CLEANING.
•  Understand and execute all work orders and tasks of varying degrees.
•  Help to monitor the wine-making process and clearly communicate results to Winemaker.
•  Perform and safely operate various wine-making machinery.
•  Help to maintain an organized cellar and crush pad.

Physical Requirements & Qualifications:

•  Must be able to communicate effectively in English, written and spoken.
•  Be at least 21 years of age.
•  Possess a valid driver’s license.
•  A college degree is preferred, AS and/or BS in Enology/Fermentation Science or Winemaking, but is not required.
•  Candidates with prior harvest experience will have priority.
•  Works well in a team environment, good attitudes go a long way!
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office & G-suite.
•  Able to work extended hours as needed with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed based on winemaking and grape-growing season.
•  Can perform the physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift, carry, push, pull weights of at least 50 pounds.
•  Be legally able to work in the USA during the complete duration of employment (All visas and CAEP applications need to be completed on your own behalf).
