Harvest Cellar Intern Job
Noer Vineyards is a family-owned and operated Shenandoah Valley vineyard and winery nestled in Verona, VA. We are looking to fill out our cellar team for the upcoming 2026 harvest, running from August to November. With 100+ acres of vinifera planted, Noer Vineyards provides an excellent opportunity to work with a number of exciting varieties. The Cellar Hand position will work alongside the winemaker in cellar, lab, and vineyard tasks, serving as an integral part of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in receiving and processing fruit
- Carrying out additions and fulfilling work orders as advised
- Racking and moving wine
- Monitoring fermentation daily
- Punch downs, pumpovers, and all related cap management
- Barrel work, including cleaning, organizing, and filling
- Collecting vineyard samples
- Performing benchmark lab analysis on wine and juice
- Monitoring barrelled wine from the past vintage
Qualifications:
- An appreciation and curiosity for the winemaking process
- Prior experience in the wine or hospitality space preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage your time
- Willingness to work extended hours, sometimes 6-7 days a week during the peak of harvest
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Readiness to be a big part of a small team
While prior experience is preferred, we encourage anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and be part of Virginia winemaking.
