Harvest Cellar Hand

We are a small lot custom crush winery located at the base of the Silverado Trail, just north of downtown Napa. We make wine for our 150 clients from as little as 1 barrel, our specialty, to 30 barrels. Our clients are both noncommercial and commercial we see a amazing amount of grape verities and winemaking styles, more than any winery in Napa.

You will be exposed to some incredible small lots of wine. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is highly motivated, adaptable to changes and a quick pace, and who can work well on their own but also as a part of our small but mighty team. A clean, well-run winery means quality wines, so expect to do the usual tasks: grape sampling, punchdowns, destemmer operations, barrel work, racking, topping, sur lies stirring, bottling, winery maintenance, and cleaning and sanitizing. We work hard, so you must be able to to lift 50+ Lbs, pull, push, dig, climb ladders or stairs, stand for long periods, and work outside in all weather conditions.

This position has potential for long term growth and advancement as we are looking for a fulltime Cellar Tech.

Job Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

•  Being on time, present, and with a positive attitude.
•  Maintain daily winery sanitation.
•  Perform cellar work as assigned by Winemaker/Associate Winemaker and Cellar Lead including transfers, racking, blending, topping, barrel work/maintenance, etc.
•  Forklift work including barrel movement and stacking desired.
•  Perform equipment maintenance throughout the cellar and facility.
•  Harvest activity including punch-downs, grape sampling, shuttling of bins.
•  Bottling line set up, operation and maintenance.
•  Identify issues and present solutions as they arise
•  Work with a focus on safety.

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Able to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
•  Effective communication skills. Able to read/write and speak English fluently.
•  Able to work hard and independently with a minimum of supervision.
•  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand for 8+ hours.
•  Willingness to perform a variety of tasks
•  Must have a valid driver’s license with clean record.
•  Must enjoy working in a small team, have a good sense of humor and not be a knuckle head.




Preferred Qualifications:

•  Previous harvest and cellar experience of two years.
•  Forklift skills.
•  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand.
