Rhys Vineyards aspires to make great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of California’s most unique, expressive, and geologically diverse mountain vineyards. With eight distinct estate properties spanning the rugged slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains and Mendocino County our focus is entirely on capturing a strong sense of "somewhereness" in every bottle.
Our vineyards are farmed using organic and biodynamic methods to cultivate vibrant, biologically diverse ecosystems. This relentless pursuit of quality is mirrored in our state-of-the-art, gravity-fed cave facility, where minimalist, hands-off winemaking allows the terroir of the vineyard to shine through.
Our hospitality program is an extension of this meticulous philosophy. We are dedicated to translating our passion for site-specific, world-class wines into deeply personal, polished, and unforgettable estate experiences for our guests and trade partners.
Professional Responsibilities:
• Provide in-person, high-touch, memorable consumer and trade experiences that are gracious, personal, and productive. Develop the on-site tasting structure and strategy (pricing, elements, flow, pairings) to maximize engagement, education, and revenue
• Ensure all phases of guest correspondence (reservation and follow-up) and experience are delivered with a gracious tone, refined verbiage, and professional business etiquette.
• Collaborate with the team to create captivating program/membership concepts, exciting tasting and educational programs, and innovative marketing materials.
• Retain and increase the lifetime value of existing mailing list members through engagement, consistent follow-up, and outstanding customer service.
• Regularly report progress and business growth using relevant metrics and adapt strategy to enhance future growth.
• Through a comprehensive referral network, build and maintain existing partnerships to accelerate brand awareness, grow visitation, and drive customer acquisition and retention.
• Actively set up and manage our reservation system.
• Communicate with the winemaking team, scheduling tastings, interactions, and tours to support the customers' and businesses' needs.
• Respond promptly to and resolve all guest and customer inquiries (email and phone).
• Collaborate with the Wholesale Sales team to host memorable trade visits that build on the connection and promotion of Rhys & Centennial Mountain across the country in key markets.
• Working with our winemaking team, order fulfillment, and additional third-party partners to ensure orders are delivered in a timely and pristine manner.
• Generate monthly DTC sales reports and capture all necessary metrics to evaluate the overall performance of the hospitality program.
• Work with the winery team and sales team to develop and execute the yearly on-site and local events schedule.
• Plan, promote, and execute on-site, wine dinners with recognized guest chefs and commensurate partners
Qualifications:
• Proven track record in luxury hospitality or premium winery DTC, backed by a strong understanding of wine and production.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a natural ability to deliver polished, high-touch guest experiences.
• Self-motivated and highly organized; capable of managing multiple operational priorities and collaborating seamlessly across winemaking and sales teams.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
