Salary Range: $65,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Position Summary
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and principal ambassador of the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association (AVWA). This highly entrepreneurial role requires a collaborative leader who can think strategically and execute effectively. The Executive Director oversees organizational operations, financial management, marketing and communications, membership engagement, signature events, tourism initiatives, and industry partnerships while serving as the primary spokesperson for the association.
The ideal candidate is an innovative, relationship-driven professional with strengths in leadership, communications, event management, and stakeholder engagement. Success in this role requires the ability to work independently, build consensus, and advance the interests of the Anderson Valley wine community.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the Board of Directors to implement strategic priorities and advance the association's mission.
• Lead the day-to-day operations, financial management, and administration of the organization.
• Serve as the primary liaison to members, industry partners, community stakeholders, and media.
• Oversee membership engagement, sponsorship development, marketing, communications, and tourism initiatives.
• Direct the planning and execution of AVWA's signature events and programs.
• Represent and promote Anderson Valley and its wine community at local, regional, and industry events.
• Supervise employees, contractors, consultants, and volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, trade associations, destination marketing, wine, hospitality, tourism, or related industries.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Experience managing budgets, partnerships, events, and stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency with digital marketing, CRM systems, and productivity software.
• Knowledge of the wine industry, hospitality, and destination marketing is strongly preferred.
• Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), WSET, or similar wine credentials are a plus.

Work Environment
