GENERAL MAMANGER/WINEMAKER/ DISTILLER
Full-Time Position – Silver Lake Wine & Spirits, Zillah WA

Company Overview

Roza Hills Vineyards, LLC, dba Silver Lake Wine & Spirits, the producer of Silver Lake Wines and Vitis Spirits, is seeking a Full-Time General Manager/Winemaker/Distiller at our Zillah, WA location. This is a unique position as it requires winemaking and distilling skills with some viticulture knowledge. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong cellar management, production planning, harvest oversight, quality control, and team leadership experience. This work requires constant use and exposure to hazardous materials (mainly sulfur, acid and base) in a wet environment, in confined and high spaces. Caution and adherence to safety protocol is essential. This position requires some weekend work to assist in the tasting room and marketing events as required.
The successful candidate will work closely with ownership to continue developing premium wines and spirits while supporting operational growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

•  Oversee all winemaking and spirits operations from grape reception through bottling.
•  Manage crush, fermentation, blending, stabilization, filtration, barrel programs, distilling and bottling schedules.
•  Maintain detailed production, compliance, and inventory records.
•  Coordinate harvest logistics including fruit intake, lab analysis, and tank/barrel assignments.
•  Develop and implement wine styles and blending programs consistent with company goals for still wines and spirits.
•  Monitor wine and spirit quality through tasting, laboratory analysis, temperature monitoring, distillation cuts and sanitation protocols.
•  Supervise the vineyard manager to insure the growth of quality grapes and harvest
•  Supervise cellar staff and seasonal harvest employees.
•  Work with management on production forecasting, purchasing, and budgeting.
•  Assist with TTB and Washington State compliance reporting.
•  Coordinate bottling runs, packaging inventory, and dry goods management.
•  Support winery hospitality, trade events, and occasional customer education activities.
•  Maintain equipment and facility as needed

Qualifications

•  Degree in Enology, Viticulture, Fermentation Science, Distilling or related field preferred.
•  Minimum 3–5 years of commercial winemaking or assistant winemaking experience.
Distilling experience is a plus.
•  Strong understanding of winery equipment, cellar operations, and sanitation practices.
•  Knowledge of TTB compliance and winery recordkeeping preferred.
•  Experience operating forklifts, pumps, filters, presses, and bottling equipment.
•  Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work long hours during harvest.
•  Strong organizational and communication skills.
•  Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.

This is a salaried position. Compensation will be competitive and based on experience. Benefits include paid time off, winery product allowances, and opportunities for long-term growth within the organization. No health or retirement benefits are offered at this time.
