Position Location: South San Diego

The California Chain Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales potential in assigned chain accounts throughout the territory. The successful Chain Sales Representative is challenged to meet or exceed assigned sales goals. The position requires the ability to identify and respond to opportunities that build and enhance brand equity in the market in the long term, as well as maximize sales in the short term.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Introduces new products, reinforces established volume and display activity, ensures vintage rotation/shelf and cold box placement, and monitors in-store promotion results.
•  Maintains continuous communication with the Chain Sales Manager regarding changes in buyer preferences, out of stock situations, and retail changes.
•  Works directly with liquor managers, wine stewards, and store directors to maximize exposure of TDP wines in select chain retail stores.
•  Performs sales support functions to include the use of current point of sale marketing materials and oversight of the shelf space in the specified accounts.
•  Ensures 100% compliance with authorized planners and promotions developed by the various chain headquarters.
•  Builds and develops the trust and confidence of the retailer (wine steward and other store employees) through knowledge of Duckhorn’s products and procedures.

What you will need:
•  Associate degree and/or equivalent related experience.
•  Wine industry knowledge to include basic understanding of wine sales, wine varietals, wine regions and leading categories.
•  Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
•  Strong math and computer skills.
•  Strong presentation and administrative skills.
•  Ability to work flexible hours, which include early morning, some evenings, and/or weekends.
•  Ability to travel within the territory up to 90% of the time, defined as time out of office visiting accounts.
•  Must possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state car registration, insurance, and a clean driving record required.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
