Join the team at Hillick & Hobbs Estate, a premium Riesling focused winery and estate. Farming steep slopes along Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

The Vineyard Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of all estate vineyards, management of personnel, and ensure timely work completion to company farming standards. Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, coordinate work to be done for the grounds and landscaping, execute development/construction projects and new plantings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Vineyard Operations:
a. Supervise and ensure proper execution of vineyard work. Oversee quality control and work efficiency.
b. Manage recordkeeping, data collection tasks.
c. Train and coach new and existing personnel on equipment and operations, safety, and company protocols.
d. Manage pesticide program.
e. Oversee and manage harvest operations.
f. Oversee acquisition of equipment, tools and supplies.
g. Communicate with PHW vineyard group for any questions/concerns (i.e., personnel, equipment, technical).
h. Manage/coordinate additional labor as appropriate.
i. Prepares annual budget, purchase orders, employee timesheets, etc.

2. Equipment maintenance & repair:
a. Manage m&r, modificatons and other misc. projects.
b. Keep diligent records of maintenance and repair work performed on company equipment.
c. Keep all equipment clean and in good working order.

3. Grounds:
a. Ensure that the grounds of all company properties are being kept to company standards.

4. Development:
a. Oversees new planting (development), replanting, etc.
b. Assist in non-vineyard infrastructure construction projects as appropriate.
