Job Description:

The Seasonal Winemaking Intern plays a key supportive role on the cellar team during the harvest season, learning all cellar operations. This full-time, hands-on role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, including overtime and weekend work during peak harvest periods. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable of demanding work, and eager to learn throughout a fast-paced harvest. The position will begin early August (exact date TBD) and extend into November 2026, depending on the timing of harvest.

Job Description:
•  Prior to the start of harvest, conduct cellar tasks such as topping, sampling, barrel maintenance, bottling, and routine winery sanitation.
•  Assist with harvest preparations - cleaning and organizing equipment and cellar space, moving equipment from storage to the winery, cleaning and staging lug boxes and macro bins.
•  General sanitation of winery and harvest equipment
•  Grape receiving, sorting, crushing, and pressing
•  Fermentation monitoring, including Brix and temperature checks
•  Juice and wine analysis, data tracking, and additions
•  Pump overs, punch downs, draining, and pressing tanks
•  Juice and wine transfers, racking, and barrel work
•  Barrel filling, topping, sanitation, and maintenance
•  Forklift operation
•  Accurate completion of work orders under supervision

Minimum Requirements
•  Self-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•  Good time management skills, ability to prioritize and adapt to changing workflows.
•  Collaborative, curious and open to learning and engaging with others.
•  Pride in quality of work, eye for detail, positive contributor to surroundings.
•  Available to work full time from August through November
•  Prior harvest or cellar experience preferred
•  Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
•  Legal authorization to work in the United States
•  Reliable transportation

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
•  Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
•  Comfort working on ladders, catwalks, and in confined spaces
•  Exposure to winery chemicals, gas fumes, hot water, and steam
•  Indoor and outdoor work in variable temperatures
•  Moderate to loud noise levels typical of winery operations

Compensation
•  Wage is $18/hour with overtime at time and a half over 40 hours/week
•  Food is provided Monday-Saturday throughout harvest
