Roles & Responsibilities

The Hospitality & Tasting Room Lead is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the daily operations, presentation, and sales performance of the tasting room. This position serves as the acting leader on duty in the absence of the Tasting Room Manager and is expected to uphold the same standards of hospitality, professionalism, operational execution, and sales leadership.

The ideal candidate possesses a passion for luxury hospitality, fine wine, fine dining, restaurant experience, relationship-driven sales, and white glove customer service.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

•  Deliver elevated, personalized, white glove hospitality to all guests and visitors.
•  Greet guests warmly and guide them through an exceptional tasting experience reflective of the brand’s standards and values.
•  Educate guests on our wine collection history, philosophy, and winemaking process with confidence and enthusiasm.
•  Host tastings and curated guest experiences with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail.
•  Anticipate guest needs and create memorable experiences that encourage repeat visitation and long-term customer relationships.
•  Maintain a polished, elegant, and welcoming tasting room environment at all times.

Sales & Direct-to-Consumer Responsibilities

•  Drive revenue through elevated hospitality, personalized wine recommendations, and meaningful guest connections.
•  Convert tasting room visitors into loyal customers, mailing list subscribers, and wine club members.
•  Actively promote wine club membership, winery events, limited releases, and direct-to-consumer offerings.
•  Use creativity, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills to increase revenue and enhance guest engagement.
•  Accurately process sales transactions and maintain customer information within the POS system.
•  Support customer service initiatives across all direct-to-consumer channels while working closely with the management team.

Leadership & Team Support

•  Serve as lead team member and primary point of contact during shifts. Reports to DTC Manager.
•  Serve as lead on duty and maintain operational, hospitality, and service standards in the absence of management.
•  Support and reinforce company standards, service expectations, and operational procedures with all tasting room staff.
•  Assist with scheduling and directing daily workflow to ensure seamless guest experiences and operational success.
•  Support training and daily staff performance while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment built on accountability, professionalism, and hospitality excellence.
•  Demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet goals and lead by example.

Operations & Administrative Responsibilities

•  Support the daily operation of the tasting room, including opening and closing procedures, setup, breakdown, and end-of-day responsibilities.
•  Monitor tasting room inventory of wine and all operational assets; place replenishment orders as needed.
•  Assist with inventory audits, monthly reconciliations, and supply pickup or deliveries as required.
•  Support reporting obligations and shipping-related administrative responsibilities as needed, working closely with the management team.
•  Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, scullery, and storage areas to luxury hospitality standards.
•  Additional hours outside of standard tasting room operating hours may occasionally be scheduled based on business needs and will be communicated by Proprietors or Management.
•  Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

•  At least two years of experience in a winery, restaurant, and/or retail wine setting.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
•  Experience with POS systems including Commerce7, ShipCompliant, RedChirp, and Tock (or willingness to learn and master).
•  Passion for fine wine, luxury hospitality, and guest service excellence.
•  Strong interpersonal, communication, and sales skills.
•  Dependable self-starter who works well independently.
•  Expected to be a steward of the brand in attire and conduct with a professional, polished and welcoming demeanor.
•  The regular schedule for this position must have weekend/ holiday availability with flexibility for special events.
•  Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
•  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally bend, kneel, or reach.
•  Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation: $24-$27 per hour plus Wine Club Incentives & Tips
