Job Description:

Rack & Riddle Custom Wine Services, the #1 custom sparkling wine producer in the United States, is seeking to add a Materials Planner to our team.

The Materials Planner is responsible for the day-to-day inventory planning and replenishment of dry goods and packaging materials to support just-in-time (JIT) production across Rack & Riddle facilities. This role ensures the right materials are available at the right time by monitoring inventory levels, coordinating inbound deliveries, and aligning closely with production schedules. The Materials Planner works within the supply chain team and serves as the operational link between purchasing, production planning, and the warehouse, ensuring materials flow without disruption and inventory remains lean and accurate.

Essential Responsibilities:

•            Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of dry goods and packaging materials (corks, capsules, labels, cartons, dividers, tissue, and related components) to support just-in-time production schedules.

•            Track daily inventory transactions in NetSuite, including receipts, adjustments, and consumption, ensuring data accuracy across all material categories.

•            Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify replenishment needs, flag shortfalls, and proactively communicate material risks to production planning and warehouse teams.

•            Coordinate inbound material deliveries with the warehouse and logistics team, internal and third party warehouses, and suppliers to ensure timely receipt and proper staging for production.

•            Review short-term production schedules and align material availability accordingly, communicating any gaps or delays to the Planning Manager and Procurement Manager.

•            Assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventory reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

•            Coordinate with the Purchasing Agent on purchase order timing and quantities based on current inventory positions and upcoming production needs.

•            Work with the warehouse team to ensure proper material storage, rotation, and labeling practices are followed.

•            Utilize planning reports and tools that support inventory accuracy and material flow visibility.

•            Communicate proactively with internal partners (production, winemaking, warehouse) regarding material availability and any supply disruptions.

•            Support planning for short term schedule of labelling projects.

•            Act as backup for Production Coordinators as needed.

•            Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

A successful candidate’s background will include:

•            High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.

•            1–3 years of experience in inventory planning, materials management, or a related role; beverage or food manufacturing experience preferred.

•            Hands-on experience with ERP or inventory management systems required; NetSuite experience is a plus.

•            Solid understanding of inventory control principles, including cycle counting, FIFO rotation, and reorder point planning.

•            Ability to read and interpret production schedules and translate material requirements into actionable replenishment plans.

•            Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.

•            Effective communicator who can collaborate across departments and escalate issues clearly and in a timely manner.

•            Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and data analysis.

•           Comfortable working in a fast-paced, just-in-time manufacturing environment where priorities can shift quickly.
