Woodinville Custom Wines is a premier custom winemaking facility located in the West Valley District of Woodinville Wine Country. As the only operation of its kind in Western Washington, we support boutique wineries and private clients with state-of-the-art equipment, expert guidance, and a collaborative production environment. Our team manages winemaking from grape to bottle using advanced cloud-based systems, including TankNet and InnoVint, ensuring precision, cleanliness, and real time data transparency.
We are seeking enthusiastic, hardworking Harvest Interns to join our production team for the up-and-coming harvest season. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands on experience in professional winemaking, learn cellar operations, and work closely with experienced winemakers in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Position Summary
Harvest Interns support all phases of seasonal wine production, including fruit processing, fermentation management, sanitation, and general cellar work. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established protocols to maintain quality and safety standards. Training is provided, and interns will gain exposure to a wide range of winemaking tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
General Cellar Operations Responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Execute work orders accurately and on schedule
• Perform barrel work: sampling, racking, filling, topping, cleaning, and maintenance
• Follow sanitation and cleaning protocols for tanks, hoses, equipment, and facility spaces
• Operate pumps, presses, forklifts, and other cellar equipment (training provided)
• Assist with bottling operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Adhere to all safety policies, including PPE use and reporting procedures
Harvest Responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Receive, sort, and process fruit; operate presses and manage tank headspace
• Perform pump-overs, punch-downs, and fermentation monitoring (Brix & temperature)
• Complete nutrient additions and inoculations
• Support extended hours during harvest, including weekends
• Assist with juice/wine transfers and general cellar tasks as needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years cellar harvest experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift certification preferred (in-house skills test required)
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform physical work
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, slippery, and noisy environments
• Ability to use computerized inventory systems
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Must be 18+ and able to work overtime as needed
