Position Summary
Bledsoe Wine Estates is seeking a National Sales Director to lead and grow our wholesale business across key markets. This role will be responsible for managing distributor and broker relationships, developing sales strategy, supporting key accounts, overseeing wholesale programming, and driving revenue growth while maintaining the premium positioning and integrity of our brands.
The ideal candidate will have strong wine industry relationships, a proven track record in luxury or premium wine sales, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on market work. This person should be comfortable working independently, traveling regularly, and representing the company with professionalism, energy, and authenticity.
This position will support all three Bledsoe Wine Estates brands: Doubleback, Bledsoe Family Winery, and Bledsoe McDaniels.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the national wholesale sales strategy for Doubleback, Bledsoe Family Winery, and Bledsoe McDaniels.
Manage and strengthen relationships with distributors, brokers, key accounts, retailers, restaurants, and other trade partners.
Oversee and support broker relationships, including communication around pricing, market priorities, events, sales opportunities, and brand execution.
Manage distributor incentives, sales programming, billbacks, and related wholesale support programs in coordination with finance and company leadership.
Identify growth opportunities in existing markets while evaluating potential new market opportunities.
Work closely with company leadership to establish annual sales goals, pricing strategy, depletion targets, distributor programming, and market priorities.
Travel regularly to support distributor work-withs, market visits, trade events, wine dinners, staff trainings, and key account presentations.
Develop and deliver sales presentations for distributors, brokers, key accounts, and trade partners.
Collaborate with the marketing team as needed to create and update sell sheets, presentations, brand materials, and other tools that support wholesale sales efforts.
Monitor distributor performance, inventory levels, depletion trends, pricing, programming, billbacks, and market execution.
Provide regular sales reporting, forecasts, market feedback, distributor updates, and competitive insights to company leadership.
Collaborate with the DTC, marketing, hospitality, and operations teams to ensure brand consistency and alignment across channels.
Represent the brands at industry events, tastings, distributor meetings, trade appointments, and consumer-facing experiences.
Support allocation planning and ensure wines are placed in accounts that align with the company’s premium brand positioning.
Maintain a strong understanding of current wine market trends, distributor dynamics, competitive activity, and key account opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 to 10 years of wine sales experience, preferably with premium, luxury, or allocated wine brands.
Existing distributor, broker, and key account relationships in major U.S. markets.
Experience managing multi-state wholesale sales responsibilities.
Strong understanding of distributor networks, broker relationships, three-tier compliance, pricing, depletion reporting, distributor incentives, billbacks, and market planning.
Proven ability to grow revenue while protecting brand equity.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to build effective sales presentations, sell sheets, and trade-facing materials in collaboration with internal teams.
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a remote and travel-heavy role.
Strong financial and business acumen, including comfort with sales budgets, forecasting, pricing, incentives, billbacks, and margin considerations.
Passion for wine, hospitality, storytelling, and premium brand building.
Ability to travel regularly, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Location
Ideally based in the Pacific Northwest, such as the Portland or Seattle area, though other locations may be considered for the right candidate.
