Brut Bottling is a Napa-based sparkling wine production and bottling company providing custom services for Traditional Method, Charmat, and forced carbonation sparkling wines, both mobile and from our Napa facility.
We are looking for a Cellar Technician I to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, and wants to learn the skills required to make sparkling wine. Previous winery experience is helpful but not required—we value work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Job Summary:
The Cellar Technician I supports day-to-day production operations including cellar work, bottling activities, equipment setup, sanitation, packaging, and mobile production services at client wineries. This role works closely with production leadership to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations.
Cellar & Production Operations
Assist with sparkling wine production activities including tirage bottling, riddling, disgorging, dosage preparation, and packaging
Support operation of bottling and production equipment
Transfer product and materials safely and accurately
Prepare production areas and equipment for scheduled work
Assist with production setup and breakdown of all winery actions
Monitor product quality and report concerns appropriately
Perform general winery cleaning and sanitation
Assist with preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting
Maintain organized workspaces and proper storage of wines, materials, and equipment
Support loading, unloading, and transport of bulk wines
Documentation & Compliance
Complete production records accurately
Follow SOPs and food safety requirements
Maintain compliance with company safety procedures
Communicate production updates and issues promptly
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Comfortable working in production environments including wet conditions, variable temperatures, and long periods of standing
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred
Previous winery, cellar, bottling, or production experience
Mechanical aptitude or equipment experience
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Basic understanding of winery operations
