We have received multiple national accolades including Wine & Sprit’s “Top 100 Winery in the World” as well as earning several “Top 100 Wines in the World” from Wine Spectator, but consider hospitality as the foundation of our guest experience.

We are looking for that special person who embodies the following: enthusiastic, positive, dependable, strong work ethic, team player, professional, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, self-motivated, a strong attention to detail, excellent floor vision, highly organized, able to multi-task efficiently, a leader who takes pride in motivating staff while helping them achieve their greatest potential, and someone who is comfortable with POS program applications, Office Suite and technology in general.

Those who possess wine knowledge with previous management experience at a winery/tasting room, restaurant or other hospitality related business are more likely to excel in this position. Additional details are listed below.

•  Although schedule flexibility is sometimes needed, a typical workweek is Friday through Tuesday
(consistent weekend availability required) and can on occasion include working some evenings.

•  Principal duties of the Tasting Room Manager are to manage tasting room related duties and staff while helping create memorable experiences for our guests and club members.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
•  Managing tasting room operations, including opening and closing duties, inventory and cash handling.
•  Staff scheduling, procurement/ordering, point-of-sale administration, assisting with wine shipment management and execution, reporting/analytics development, responding to guest inquiries and other administrative tasks.
•  Oversee staff productivity and execute staff education, training and meetings.
•  Make visiting with and exceeding the expectations of our guests a top priority while ensuring a welcoming environment.
•  Help develop and execute winery events, promotions and goal-based programs.
•  Provide strong, positive leadership and foster a collaborative, positive team culture.
•  Recruit, train and manage a passionate team of wine educators and other tasting room staff.
•  Develop outreach initiatives to attract visitors.
•  Assist Wine Club Manager with wine club growth and wine club events and identify ways to continue to foster current members.
•  Work with the event and production teams on scheduled events to ensure all departments are aligned.
•  Create thoughtful monthly or bi-monthly guest and staff appreciation experiences that foster hospitality, engagement, and team culture.
•  Maintain the overall inventory of the winery and tasting room and oversee planned purchases.
•  Assist the General Manager and Sparkman team as needed.

Qualifications:
•  4+ years of experience in hospitality, wine sales, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
•  Four-year degree preferred
•  Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•  Advanced wine knowledge or certification (e.g., WSET, CMS, CSW) is a plus.
•  Proficiency with POS systems, reservation platforms, and inventory management.
•  Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
•  Has own reliable transportation.
•  Maintains or will acquire King Co Health Department’s Food Handler’s Permit and MAST certification (WSLCB).
